@_fat_ugly_rat_ Having spent time in all of these: Hartford by a million miles. Colorado Springs blows. Honolulu is actually a pretty dumpy city. Omaha is cool.

@andy__mick What’s also forgotten is how they cheap out on coaches , GMs, facilities…
English

@waltdenver Everyone knows Kroenkes are getting the cheapest bench money can buy

The Nuggets Took the Cheap Way Out With Jonas Valanciunas | Shapiro and Piro x.com/i/broadcasts/1…
English

@Shapalicious @aronov_emmanuel @Camjohntruther This will be part of other moves to help get under the cap and Watson. Are you really not getting this?
English

Purely a cost cutting move with no argument of making Denver a better basketball team. Gotten because of the bad MPJ trade, Denver gets one season and a future cap hit out of Jonas after the coach misused him.
The Nuggets are owned by the largest private land owner in the USA.

The Denver Nuggets are waiving veteran center Jonas Valanciunas, sources tell ESPN. Valanciunas is expected to receive interest from multiple NBA teams.
English

@VicLombardi @BobbyMarks42 @nuggets We’ve always known that one of the non Jokic starters is going to have to go to keep Watson.
English

According to @BobbyMarks42,
if the @nuggets simply waived Valanciunis and then signed Peyton Watson to a $25 million/year contract, they would get hit with a tax penalty of $177 million dollars.
That’s the cost of the repeater tax.
ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY SEVEN MILLION.

The Denver Nuggets reportedly refused to include the names of Christian Braun, Julian Strawther, and Peyton Watson in trade talks for Paul George, per @ramonashelburne
“League sources said the Nuggets inquired about Paul George this offseason, but talks never escalated because Denver refused to discuss Braun, Watson or Strawther, and the Clippers weren't interested in solely taking back future salary -- likely the $147 million owed to Porter and Zeke Nnaji.”

I do not see the Nuggets in this list. Shoot me.

"I'm told the Sixers are also trying to make a pitch to LeBron James, along with the Warriors, Cavaliers, Heat…Include the Sixers and maybe one or two other teams in due time in that mix.” — Shams. 🍿👀 (h/t @ohnohedidnt24)

The Nuggets have greatly missed KCP’s screen navigation and quickness, ability to contain the ball, and overall defensive motor since his departure in 2024. A return would fill an integral void
Chris Haynes@ChrisBHaynes
Memphis Grizzlies and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are on the verge of working on a parting resolution as he could be traded or become a free agent relatively soon, league sources tell me.

The word out of Denver is that the Nuggets are not in the salary cap crunch that external sources thought they’d be in, per @JakeLFischer, and Denver might be willing to go into the 2nd apron.

English

@RFreemyer The only trades they’ll make is to to get under the cap. They were never in on JB
English

@RFreemyer Do we really think they considered bringing in another 182m of contracts for Jaylen Brown. They put that out there.
English

@NBABlackburn It’s more about how much money they can save and still save face imo
English

@prmorphine @Adam_Mares The Kroenkes would still probably pay him his studio host salary

My question on draft night verbatim:
“You guys have had ongoing conversations with Nikola, I assume, about the extension. How have those conversations progressed? Do you feel confident that will go as smoothly as possible?”
Ben Tenzer:
“Yeah, we just can’t comment on any of that because of the league rules. But you've heard what he said about his happiness here, and we feel really comfortable with that relationship.”
