The Uganda Prisons Service has announced a Shs10 million reward for anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of prison warder Moses Anguyo, the main suspect in a deadly shooting at Kiboga Government Prison.
According to prisons spokesperson Frank Baine, Anguyo allegedly opened fire on his supervisors during a routine inspection at the facility and later fled the scene.
The shooting left four people dead, including Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Hope Catherine, Principal Officer Bright Akishuri, Sarah Ayebare, the wife of the officer in charge, and her toddler who was struck by a stray bullet.
Authorities say the suspect has been on the run since the February incident, and security agencies have intensified the manhunt while urging the public to share any information that could lead to his arrest.

@Mkainerugaba_ @KagutaMuseveni Thanks to @MirundiJr for his presentation! However, next time when dirrectly addressing the president, he should use the phrase, "your excellency....," not His excellency! The "His excellency" phrase can only be used when discussing the president with one another/others.

Tamale Mirundi Jr fires!
“H.E. Gen. @KagutaMuseveni, Your Excellency, many in your government are old and not hardworking—it is only you who keeps working tirelessly. We therefore request that in the next Cabinet, you appoint more young people to join you and work hard for this government.”

@KagutaMuseveni It's visibly clear that you and mama @JanetMuseveni do enjoy the company of the bazukulu. Let the interaction with this block be sustained and made regular for they have solutions to a number of Uganda's social challenges. Kudos @KagutaMuseveni @StateHouseUg

I reminded them that our struggle was always about liberating Ugandans from poverty and bringing as many people as possible into the money economy through the four key sectors. Today, many have joined, and those who are in will help to pull in the rest.
The focus must remain on wealth creation at the household level. Programmes like the Parish Development Model, Emyooga, ghetto funds and Boda Boda funds are designed to put resources close to the people so they can take charge of their own development.
I am proud of our young people for embracing technology, sharpening their communication skills and creating opportunities for themselves and others. That is the future of Uganda.
I thank Maama for accompanying me and Natasha for coordinating this engagement.
Mwebale nnyo.

From the farm, Maama and I were pleased to have a sit-down with our Bazzukulu for the 2nd edition of Jazz with Jajja.
I was glad to interact with these young creatives who are contributing to the new economy. They are doing something different, combining promotion with celebrity, technology, and enterprise, and linking it to other sectors beyond traditional advertising. This is innovation.

@HabakukkN94 @Lira_RRH I think you simply want to fault the hospital as it's always a habit of some Ugandans not to believe in gov't facilities. For your info, @Lira_RRH is a different story. Secondly, every caregiver would want to associate with whoever promises faster help to their patient. Thx
English

@Lira_RRH I think a certain lesson should be taken out of this situation. The care given to patients is actually not up to the standard, patients are even willing to pay money for them to receive proper medical care.
The man was using the negligence of doctors to get money.

Lira Regional Referral Hospital Security team working closely with the Uganda Police Force on Thursday 26th February, 2026 , at around 1000 hours, arrested a one Okello Moses from the female surgical ward for defrauding shillings 200,000 from a patient's caregiver, to expedite medical services and surgery.

@Voiceoflangofm @AnitahAmong Aber District awaits you, Hon. That's the only place where you can distribute plastic cups and plates and win.

#LiveNow: Our votes were stolen. No one in Uganda does not know this. The Speaker of Parliament, @AnitahAmong, openly told the President that they did not want me to go to Parliament. I am also a threat to her. I did not just contest against Aceng; I contested against the Speaker of Parliament herself. - @BettyAmongiMP, Min. of Gender, Labour & Social Development.

@RonexKisembo When one travels by road to Juba through Elegu, the devastating effects of war are overwhelmingly exhibited by the deserted homes with de-roofed permanent buildings. Beyond Nimule up to a few kilometres to Juba City, no home is inhabited! We ought to celebrate our peace as UG🎄
English

Reflecting on South Sudan 🇸🇸
In 2018, I had secured an appointment to meet President Salva Kiir Mayardit in Juba. I chose to travel by road from Kampala via the 🇺🇬-🇸🇸 border of Elegu. Wanted to witness the devastating impact of the war. (Terrible mistake it was. Will spare you our experience with the convoy escort)
While in Juba, I was first received by Hon. Gen. Deng Alor Kuol the then Foreign Affairs Minister, Lt. Gen. Hon. Michael Chiangjiek Geay the then Interior Minister and Hon. Jimmy Gama Hassan, then First Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
H.E @KagutaMuseveni & Uhuru Kenyatta supported the fast tracking of South Sudan to be a member of @jumuiya. That's consistency and dependability. It's what Mzee keeps preaching, that our guaranteed future lies in our "small villages/ponds" that we love to call independent states integrating to form one "bloc/ocean." to widen our regional market and for strategic security of our region.
When @KagutaMuseveni and @NRMOnline assumed power in 1986, he didn't inherit a function state. He inherited debris and embarked on nation resuscitation.
That 🇺🇬 today stands intact, governable & regionally consequential, is inseparable from that reconstruction. What defines Mzee's Leadership is not longevity for its own sake, but coherence of purpose over time.
@SalimSalehRufu @mkainerugaba @StateHouseUg 15th January 2026, make no mistake, let's renew Mzee's mandate. Kiyamba ffe.

@RonexKisembo @MODVA_UPDF I will read this, comrade Tendo. Thanks for sharing it with me🙏

Reflecting on Somalia 🇸🇴
In 2018, I visited Mogadishu on a confirmed appointment to meet then president Mohamed Farmajo. I stayed at @MODVA_UPDF Sector One, Base Camp in Mogadishu, I chanced to attended the handover ceremony where the late Lt. Gen. Paul L'okech was handing over command of Sector One to Maj. Gen. James Kabango. This function that was witnessed by Lt. Gen. Peter Elweru.
My experienced while there left me without any iota of doubt that war has devastating impact to humanity and that development is anchored on peace. This is something that we 🇺🇬 seem to be taking for granted!! Terrible mistake we're making kabisaa. Let's remind ourselves;
IGASOM (2006-2007)
AMISOM (2007-2022)
ATMIS (2022-2024)
AUSSOM (2024....) All these initiatives are aimed at restoration of peace in Somalia with regional, continental and global players. Any lessons for us here?
Now that 🇸🇴 is a member of EAC @jumuiya, kuna mwanga na maendeleo yameanza taratibu. Even regional and international airlines are plying the Mogadishu route.
That's what Mzee keeps preaching, that our guaranteed future lies in our "small villages/ponds" that we love to call independent states integrating to form one "bloc/ocean."

Minister Betty Amongi has denied allegations that the GROW project is failing, claiming that the criticism is being politicized by the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, who had earlier requested a comprehensive statement on the project's implementation.
This followed the statement made by President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta questioning the impacts of the project.
The GROW project, aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs.
