@816mark @yegwave After separation we can keep our money here to fund health care rather than having Ottawa steal it. Plus we can control our own immigration rather than wasting cash paying for healthcare for phoney refugees.

A man died at Edmonton’s Royal Alexandra Hospital on May 8 while waiting for emergency care, the Alberta Medical Association has publicly disclosed. Alberta Health Services has confirmed an investigation is underway, citing privacy reasons for withholding further details. The death follows the December 2025 passing of Prashant Sreekumar, 44, who died at Edmonton’s Grey Nuns Community Hospital after an extended emergency room wait. Following Sreekumar’s death, the provincial government ordered a judge-led fatality inquiry and announced a physician-led triage program for major Edmonton and Calgary hospitals. That inquiry remains ongoing.

A man in Edmonton was kidnapped at gunpoint on May 6 and forced to Calgary in an alleged extortion plot targeting a member of the South Asian community, according to the Calgary Police Service. Police say the victim was abducted from an Edmonton home, assaulted, threatened with a gun, and driven to a residence in Calgary’s Cityscape neighbourhood where suspects tried forcing him to lure the intended target outside. When he refused, he was assaulted again. The target and his wife were later followed and threatened at gunpoint while trying to leave the home before retreating inside and calling police. Officers arrested two suspects that night after stopping a vehicle near Metis Trail and 104 Avenue N.E. Taranveer Singh, 24, Daksh Gautam, 25, Akashdeep Singh, 18, and Pardeep Singh, 24, have all been charged. Gagandeep Singh, 29, remains wanted on warrants. Police say he has connections to Calgary, Ontario and B.C. Investigators say a privately manufactured firearm was seized and believe more suspects were involved.

@yegwave The industrial carbon tax won’t be rolled back, it just won’t increase as fast as previously scheduled. But it will still certainly increase while the proposed pipeline is uncertain due to First Nations (funded by Ottawa) that will litigate to have it blocked.

@nenshi The referendum doesn’t affect anyone’s rights. If we vote to separate only then might be an affect and potentially a duty to consult.

Today, a judge has thrown out the Alberta separatist petition because Danielle Smith’s UCP government failed in its legal duty to consult First Nations. I want to thank the fearless First Nations who stood up and led this fight against separatism – not just for their nations, but for all Albertans and for Canadians. Specifically, thank you to the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation, the Blackfoot Confederacy, and Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, for fighting for our country with your time and money. First Nations are not alone, as the vast majority of Albertans stand alongside them, opposed to a costly, divisive exercise. This referendum violates treaty rights, it would cost Albertans hundreds of millions of dollars, and is now tied to serious public safety concerns thanks to the largest data breach in Alberta’s history. The Premier says that she’s exploring other ideas. Here’s an idea, Premier: call off the referendum and put this to bed. This petition is dead. This referendum is dead. For the premier to spend taxpayer time and money to resurrect it, would prove what we’ve always known: she’s a separatist. Accept the court’s decision. Nobody is above the law – and certainly not this Premier. Albertans are proud Canadians and want nothing more than to move on from this and focus on the things that really matter.

@yegwave There’s no way he’s got enough insurance to cover the full cost of all the damage. Therefore Edmonton’s taxpayers are going to be on the hook for the rest. But hey, no problem Edm council will just keep raising taxes for “green“ LRT projects.

@RealDonBradshaw @CPC_HQ So which FN are we supposed to acknowledge? The ones that occupied the land just prior to the arrival of whites, or the ones that occupied the land before being defeated by the most recent FN, or the one before that? Please advise.

A new report released Wednesday, Decision Making and National Unity Under Threat, warns that foreign actors are exploiting existing divisions in how Albertans feel about separatism. The report identifies Russia, the U.S, and profit-driven opportunists using AI as actors spreading misinformation and disinformation to inflame division, cause confusion and weaken trust during the separatism debate. Exposed: Toronto police parking officers costing taxpayers millions by clocking out early Do you remember the 1981 movie, Time Bandits? This Terry Gilliam-directed flick was a time travel fantasy. But in the here and now, there are real-life time bandits amongst us. And get this: these time bandits happen to be members of law enforcement! That’s what we observed (and video recorded) when we paid a visit to the Toronto Police Service Central Parking Enforcement Unit headquarters in north Toronto. By way of background, parking enforcement is quite the revenue generator for the city. Almost 400 parking enforcement officers (a.k.a., “meter maids”) write some 2.8 million tickets per year. That works out to more than $80 million per year going into the city’s coffers. Each officer is mandated to work a 10-hour shift. They get paid about $40 per hour. Or at least they are supposed to work 10 hours. But we discovered that such is not the case. Jay Bannister, a former Toronto cop who now runs Mad Lab Press, was tipped off by an insider that for several years now, parking enforcement officers are routinely NOT putting in a full shift’s work. And yes, we have evidence. Bannister went to the Central Parking Enforcement Unit just after 5 a.m. to observe officers arriving for duty in their civilian cars for the morning shift. At 6 a.m., the officers, now in their uniforms, left HQ in their marked cars. They are meant to be writing parking tickets until 4 p.m. Of note: each officer has a quota of 60 tickets per day, which is a goal that can easily be achieved in about two hours. In any event, these officers should be back at headquarters no sooner than 3:45. That way they can change out of their uniforms and leave at 4 p.m. But this is NOT the case. Instead, they routinely return to HQ by around 2 p.m. Indeed, the day we observed their comings and goings, some “early birds” had returned by 1:30 p.m. – yet keep in mind they are being paid until 4 p.m.! Translation: every officer is paid for a 10-hour shift even though they are barely working an eight-hour shift. This is called time theft. And it is costing the taxpayer almost $6 million per year thanks to all these officers going home hours early as opposed to working a full shift. It should be noted that the head honcho at parking enforcement, Michael Harrison, makes almost $187,000 per year plus benefits. And get this: last year, Harrison received a whopping 41% raise! But why? For turning a blind eye to time theft? Surely he knows what is going on. Last Monday afternoon, we paid a visit to the Central Parking Enforcement Unit. Sure enough, beginning as early as 1:30 p.m., officers began returning to headquarters. We scrummed the returnees. Our questions included: - Why are you off-shift – you’re supposed to be working until 4 p.m.? - We calculate that this time theft is costing the taxpayer almost $6 million per year. What do you have to say to the taxpayer about this? - As a member of law enforcement, shouldn’t you be setting a good example as opposed to defrauding the taxpayer? Those who did offer an answer said either “no comment” or “reach out to TPS Corporate Communications.” Alas, just one hitch: the policy of TPS Corporate Communications is to NOT communicate with Rebel News. So much for transparency… But now that the cat is out of the bag, the question arises: will the Chief of Police lay down the gauntlet and demand that parking enforcement officers put in a full shift? Or will time banditry simply be tolerated for whatever reason? Stay tuned. In the days ahead we shall bring you an update to see if these time bandits have modified their behaviour.
