Wow. This is disturbing. Kristi Noem’s husband has been caught by @DailyMail sending pics where he crossdresses with giant fake breasts. They also say he’s been paying fetish accounts to trade pornographic "busty bimbo" content. Can insane people stay out of politics please? Full story: dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

A Vietnam vet said I don’t know what I’m talking about… because I said the AR-15 is NOT more powerful than the M4. Let that sink in. I responded to a veteran who made the claim that the AR-15 is more powerful than the standard military issue M4. Then another vet came behind him and basically said I’m the one who doesn’t know guns. Here’s the problem: Respect for your service and being factually right are not automatically the same thing. The modern civilian AR-15 is semi-auto only. The M4 can do more. Same basic platform. Same round. So how exactly is the civilian rifle somehow “more powerful”? It isn’t. And this is exactly how bad gun arguments spread — people hear confidence, emotion, and credentials… and assume that means the facts are solid. So I want to hear from y’all: Should veteran status protect somebody from criticism when they’re wrong about guns? Comment: YES if you think service changes the conversation NO if facts are facts no matter who says it And be honest — Would you have called this out too, or stayed quiet because he’s a Vietnam vet? youtu.be/71xRpD2tijE

@danmelsonauthor @MrColionNoir AR-15's come in different barrel lengths, and military 5.56 has a higher grain than your average .223 ammo. There. I've given my contribution to this fully pointless debate.

Facts are facts, no matter who says them. That said, an AR 15 has a longer barrel and fires the same cartridge, so more energy gets transferred to an individual bullet. It's still not a big game rifle, but more powerful than an M4 bullet? Yes, and that's fairly simple physics.

@braxton_mccoy I'm sorry guys. Same as with Epstein, I can't keep accepting the stream of coincidental oddities. And this case was significant enough, that I doubt they'd have held any evidence back when the entire world was debating who dunnit.

@couragemerry It's dumb to limit this to "the first day of fighting". Rome was gutted at Cannae, and Carthage was none the better for it. It's well within the norm for a nation to suffer horrible defeat, and come out stronger on the other side.

NEW: The U.S. Army has launched an investigation after a military helicopter was flying low near Kid Rock’s Nashville home on Saturday, according to Reuters. The helicopter flew by Rock's 27,000-square-foot White House replica home. "A U.S. official confirmed that this indeed did happen and the Army is investigating how this happened," said Reuters' @idreesali114. "An administrative review is underway to assess the mission and verify compliance with regulations and airspace requirements. Appropriate action will be taken if any violations are found," the Army said.

@matthewdmarsden This is such a stupid comment. "The things you didn't invest in, because it was obvious they'd never stand up to US capabilities, aren't effective. LOL" Yeah, no shit. How's it going with the rest of the weapons they did invest in?

Cory Booker was asked if he’d support Trump’s diplomatic efforts to end the war and weirdly says no, because he doesn’t support anything this administration does. Ok Trump sucks but can we end the war? This is crazy talk

My gut reaction when I heard that Israel blocked Cardinal Pizzaballa from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was that it’s wrong to block him, BUT, I totally understand why they did. Iran would love to kill a man who was almost Pope on Palm Sunday & destroy a holy Christian site. They need to quickly find a way to secure these sites as top priorities so everyone can worship safely but I don’t think Israel should be hit too hard for trying to prevent a terror attack. Both sides (Israel and Pizzaballa) have good reasons for how they feel here.
Collin Rugg@CollinRugg

JUST IN: Israel says they are coming up with a “plan” to allow church leaders to worship at the holy site “in the coming days” after Cardinal Pizzaballa was blocked from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Palm Sunday. Netanyahu’s office has released the following statement: “Over the past several days, Iran has repeatedly targeted the holy sites of all three monotheistic religions in Jerusalem with ballistic missiles. In one strike, missile fragments crashed meters from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. As a result, Israel has temporarily asked worshippers from all faiths not to worship at the holy sites in Jerusalem's Old City to protect them. Today, out of special concern for his safety, Jerusalem police prevented the Latin Patriarch Cardinal Pizzaballa from holding mass this morning at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Again, there was no malicious intent whatsoever, only concern for his safety and that of his party. However, given the holiness of the week leading up to Easter for the world's Christians, Israel's security arms are putting together a plan to enable church leaders to worship at the holy site in the coming days.” Video: tzogho / tt.

@Avaviel @orsonscottcard @grok Career wise or what? And yeah, it was surprisingly easy to handle given it's a government program. It's largely why it feels weird to get the whole "thank you for your service" treatment. I was prepared to die for my country, but I ended up getting a pretty good deal.

Orson Scott Card
Orson Scott Card@orsonscottcard·
“Will Trump prevail in Iran or will this war be his downfall?” It could easily be both. Iran has been at war with the United States and all its neighbors since 1979. It has spawned murders and atrocities and its fanatical leadership has sought — and found — means of overwhelming the defenses of other nations. Not just nukes, but icbms and drones, which it aims at military and nonmilitary targets indiscriminately. The only way to find out a threat was imminent is to suffer the consequences of not acting preemptively. Somebody had to neutralize the Iranian threat, and the only nation with the power to do it is the US, and the only leader with the wisdom and the spine to do it is Trump. If Trump succeeds, his fanatical enemies in the US, who support causes every bit as insane as Iran's, will claim that the destruction of Iran's evil government was not “necessary,” because, see? They didn't have nukes. So just as the leaders of France and the UK would have been ousted if they had crushed Hitler back when it could have been done almost bloodlessly, and completely legally under the terms of the Versailles treaty, Trump will never be able to prove what “would have happened,” and his enemies, who have proven their contempt for law and their desire to create a permanent one-party state, will probably succeed in their aims. They will control the history-writing — they already control most of the press and universities — and so the fact that Trump preemptively saved the world from an evil warmongering state will be flipped on its head, and HE will be declared the evil warmonger. But if the attempt to suppress Iran fails, which will probably be the case if Trump does not deploy troops to break the back of the Iranian regime on the ground, the consequences will be so dire that again, Trump will be blamed for having “provoked” Iran with a “needless” war. So unless the American electorate behaves with unexpected wisdom, this attack is probably the most necessary and self-destructive act of Trump's administration. Necessary, because the fools who governed us from 2009-2017 and 2021-2025 did nothing but appease Iran's tyrants and enable them to oppress their own population while causing or abetting the worst state and nonstate actors in the world. Trump's successors, even if they have the will, will not have the power to destroy America's worst antagonists. The moment of possibility is now, Trump has taken it, and no matter how it turns out, it will be the weapon his fanatical, anti-democratic enemies use to destroy him.

@Avaviel @orsonscottcard @grok To clarify, below isn't a render of mine. Mine was surprisingly good for how experienced I was, but it was for an old RTS, so it didn't need to be so detailed. Not very well optimized, but I was quite proud at the time.

You’re right we probably won’t agree I joined the military after completing art school, unable to find jobs because I have a conservative political belief background. But then, the dreaded hip stress fractures! No more Army for me. Luckily, they paid for the engineering graphics thing. Solid works as 1000% better than fusion. Fusion is OK in a few things, but really you’re much better off when you delete timeline.
