This “readers context” is ignorant and utterly irrelevant to my point. Trump is selling weapons to Ukraine that Biden withheld, paid for by NATO. He also imposed crippling oil and gas sanctions which Biden refused to do. He has seized Russian shadow fleet tankers which Biden refused to do. He is allowing Ukraine to use US weapons to strike inside Russia which Biden refused to do. He’s even giving them targeting intelligence to hit Russian military and energy targets, which Biden refused to do. If Biden had done everything Trump is doing today in 2022 (when Russia was in retreat) the war would be over by now. These are facts. The fact that taxpayers are not footing the bill is a good thing.

Having interjected my own opinion on this matter, and now spoked with some SEAL buddies, allow me a bit of words.
This is a cultural difference, and what I said is true. Combat or not, going off safe at the LCC would get you fired in an Army CT Unit. Even at our highest levels, including the one above mine, you safety between rooms even if you shit somebody in the last one.
I’m willing to concede Navy CT does it another way, and that doesn’t make it wrong. Just foreign.
I do wish @AndyStumpf77 had not said it though, purely for this reason. Every tactitard under the sun will now extract that clip and say “ assaulting with your gun off safe is cutting edge ninja tactics”

It is fascinating to see this clip making the “rounds,” no pun intended, and sparking needless online debate about safety selectors and how to properly manipulate a rifle. Zero times have I ever advocated for not using the safety selector on a rifle, nor have I ever been to a training course that taught that. Poor control of your weapon, i.e. being on “fire” when you should not be is one of the easiest ways to be ejected from the community. This video is one specific instance and is about the difference between administrative training environments and real world operations. No TTP is perfect. Aka, you want to have a draw/fire time of under 1.5 seconds at bare minimum.

"A whole civilization will die tonight” are words no President of the United States had ever spoken until this morning. Donald Trump’s behavior is unhinged and making Americans less safe. After a 25-year career in the United States Navy, I have never met or served with anyone who so completely lacks the qualities of good leadership as Donald Trump does.
If the President takes the actions he has threatened to take, countless Iranian civilians will die, it will massively escalate this war, and the United States will be seen as a country without a moral or ethical compass. That will make Americans less safe right now and risk the lives of thousands of service members. The consequences will have a lasting and damaging effect on our nation.
Trump's mistakes have led us to this perilous moment, but the solution is not to escalate even further. This must stop.

Fox News can confirm that the 2nd crew member of the downed F15E fighter jet has been rescued and he and the members of the rescue team that extracted him from behind enemy lines in Iran are all safely out of Iran. That according to two senior US officials and multiple well placed sources in the region. The Weapons Systems Officer ejected along with the pilot when their F15E Strike Eagle they were flying was struck Thursday night (early Friday local time) in southwest Iran. The WSO used the SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) training to evade capture, hiding on an elevated ridge after hiking away from the wreckage and putting out an emergency beacon.) US Special Operations rescue forces to include PJs (United States Air Force Pararescuemen (PJs) and many layers of elite rescue forces took part in the complex, layered mission to both find the crew member and also keep the Iranian forces who were hunting the American weapons system operator at bay. There are videos that have appeared from local eyewitnesses that show what appear to have been injured and dead Iranian members of the IRGC and Basij who were looking for the downed American crew member. Fox has learned there was fighting on the ground but no Americans killed during the operation. “It was a very complex operation to retrieve the downed service member,” a well placed source briefed on the operation told me. Many different branches of the US military were involved in the rescue. Fox News can confirm the A10 Warthog that crashed Friday was involved in providing cover for the rescue teams searching for the pilot. That A10 crashed in Kuwait (first reported by ABC Friday) but the A10 pilot managed to eject safely and was rescued. There was destruction of aircraft which have sensitive equipment on board, I am told, all part of this complex CSAR (Combat Search and Rescue) mission. The F15E was pretty much destroyed on impact. Two rescue helicopters were hit by enemy fire on Friday and crew members onboard were injured by enemy fire but managed to make it out of Iran. There were a lot of elements to this rescue, I am told.

@bstarrreports You'll never completely eliminate MANPADS and pop up SHORAD/MR-SAM systems that use passive targeting, EO/FLIR systems, offboard sensors, etc.
At that point, NOE flying or simply operating above 15k feet is how you largely neutralize said threat. It's about mitigation now...
