Wow. The editorial board of the Globe & Mail just flat out admitted that it screwed up by failing to scrutinize the false 2021 claims that “unmarked graves” had been “confirmed” at Kamloops. It’s taken five years, which is a disgrace, but give them credit for finally saying it

This is an utterly unnecessary editorial that serves no purpose other than to attempt to appease racists who will never be appeased in the first place, at the expense of Indigenous families who lost loved ones. Both-sidesing this so you can be perceived as “unbiased” in the face of racist outcry serves no purpose other than to prove the Globe is not beholden to the truth, to fairness — it’s beholden to the loudest, algorithmically-amplified voices telling it that it has failed in its pursuit of an impossible “objectivity.”

How many bodies were confirmed 5 years ago in Kamloops? ZERO How many secret burials uncovered with the $230 MILLION the federal gov't provided since that time across Canada? ZERO How many confirmed murders in residential schools confirmed in Canada? ZERO How many genocides committed by Canadian people against the indigenous in the history of our nation? ZERO. There are no knowledge keepers. There are only knowledge seekers.
