@Camp4 To be clear it is overall a great car. But there's a long way to go in situations that are very much not edge cases for urban drivers. I previously trained over 100 commercial drivers, and it still has habits that are troubling or just rude long-term.

@Camp4 You're clearly your own man and not an Elon Stan so I'll just say: this is very much not what robotaxi stats say. "Solved" is lifting far above its weight class here. Join my long commute through the Bay Area sometime rather than rural, and you will see how much it still isn't

We did a family road trip to Taos this week. 5 hours each way. Our Model Y did 100% of the driving. Zero interventions. One 12-min stop each way to charge during a bathroom break. Two 25-min charges in Taos while shopping. $57 total. Three things: 1) Most people don’t know that self-driving is solved. It’s mind-blowing and alleviates a surprising amount of mental load. When the supervision requirement is removed, it will be an even bigger game-changer. 2) Once you drive a Tesla, all other cars feel like relics from a bygone era. There are lots of subtle features that you don’t notice until you drive a regular car again. 3) Tesla is light years ahead of all other automakers and that gap will only grow because no other car company can design from first principles.

@LamarMK I'd pay 20 to $30 a month for FSD grade lane keeping that wasn't shaky and scary like auto steer. In urban Bay Area, simply not good enough to justify 99 yet, although I do pay for it because I have a long commute and frankly sometimes need to work on the way. Disengage regularly

A lot of people don't want to pay $99 a month for FSD. So they don't even try it. Drop the price to $49.99 and suddenly it's an easy decision. Add a 6-month plan for $279 or a yearly plan for $499, and now it's a no-brainer. We saw what happened when Tesla offered the Cybertruck for $59K. Demand took off. Same thing would happen with FSD. Lower the price. Get more people in the door. Let the tech sell itself.

@tyromper Funny, my dad is as healthy as yours, 76, gets all shots and checkups w/o incident. Same at long term care home he still works at, where some people are pushing or exceeding 100. Mom sailed through cancer treatment eating whatever she wanted. This is called "confirmation bias"

I 100% notice this & agree with it too! My folks are about to turn 69. (Go ahead & laugh teenagers :) My mom was diagnosed with cancer over a decade ago & was offered CUPCAKES before her chemo. The Dr. actually said "SUGAR was good medicine." After that she's been fanatical about basically going the opposite of everything mainstream health "experts" suggest. 10 years in remission. Runs & lifts daily. Super healthy. My dad REFUSED the Covid jab. Got heated & when the Dr. told him "at your age this is foolish!" My dad said, "I don't take health advice from a guy 30 years younger than me than can't do as many pushups as I can!" He ignores almost all mainstream advice & has done the opposite of what the "experts" recommend. He lifts, runs, & bikes daily. He's been logging runs for 4 decades & is about to go over 100,000 miles run! It's good to always ask questions. It's wise to stay true to what your convictions are & not waver.

The healthiest people I know are the most skeptical of doctors and mainstream medical advice. They literally question everything. There’s a lesson in that somewhere

Saturday, out to dinner with the lady in SF: major but uncomplicated merge, slammed on the brakes to a near stop to yield to a Prius approaching in a different lane behind us. All it had to do was speed up slightly. Could have caused pile up if I weren't a fast attentive driver

Blocked, which perfectly sums up the fanboy mentality. I'm truly hopeful we will get there w FSD eventually. It is laughably not ready, and that's extremely apparent to anyone who is a) a good driver b) uses it daily in complex environments c) not sunk cost delusional into #TSLA
Rich Perkins@RrrPeeSRC

@mitchdeg Four. Four disengagements on my easy, urban but uncomplicated commute today. Three on the way in. This is typical. Those of you saying this is around the corner either live in rural Alabama, are being dishonest, or don't drive a Tesla daily. Utterly out of touch

Oh, look, another normal flu season has come and gone. Remember, kids: 1: Aside from Covid, which virologists CAUSED - we haven't had a major respiratory virus epidemic in over a century. 2: Covid and flu "vaccines" do zilch (except cause side effects). Don't believe the hype

1. If he sold products to people who got no value from them he wouldn’t be rich. Or he’d be in jail not in an X thread 2. All lawsuits are public record. You can verify this isn’t true. 3. This isn’t even a negative thing lol. That’s how you build real wealth 4. Obviously not bald lol. I can go on but as you can see these claims are either false or just opinion (rooted in stupidity) But I’m well aware the internet is dumb. Just enjoying my few mins of freedom today and banting with these clowns

All of this debate about living in the suburbs makes me realize that New England is so unique. Many of the suburbs around Boston have cute and walkable downtowns and are downright bucolic. The best suburbs in the country, along with metro NY and NJ.

So it's been roughly 20 years since the modern anti-aging/life-extension movement got going. What do they have to show for those 20 years? Anything at all? Rapa is a joke, metformin, NAD precursors are bullshit, etc. Exercise and not being obese is still the winner.

The Israeli government has displaced a total of 6 million people from their homes. (3 million Iran, 2 million Gaza, 1 million Lebanon). 6 million people. The equivalent of the entire population of Maryland displaced from their homes. By one government.
