A6: I find that teachers in my building are my best resource, they teach the same/similar students and sometimes they try things I've never thought of!

A5: We also do a lot of private conferencing via GoGuardian chat! If students are confused or need a question, they can feel comfortable messaging my directly for clarification if they don't want to ask in front of peers! #EngageMID

A5: I try to break the content down into small, manageable chunks and use positive reinforcement when they tackle a tough concept. I also encourage students to talk it out with me. Sometimes hearing yourself out loud helps.

A4: My kids still love competition, so starting class with a drill where I give them a topic and each group writes as many things as they remember or know about that topic and the group with the most and best responses win candy.

A3) My students definitely need more movement towards the end of the day! I try to incorporate as much movement as I can, even if it is going from their desk to the carpet. #engageMID

A3: I find that as the day goes on, I'm more lax with giving the kids time to decompress and talk with one another. It takes longer to get things done, but they need time to socialize. It's hard though because I want to keep on track with all of my other classes. #engageMID

A3: Towards the ends of the day my students are SUPER squirrely and ready to be done BUT they love talking and asking questions (even if they are very off-topic) so I try to do more story-telling and discussion type activities.

A3: After lunch both me and my students start dragging. This is when I start out class with a discussion, how was everyone's day. Ease them back into learning and get them back in order after lunch.

A2: I love incorporating things like songs (Hamilton is amazing!), tiktok, videos, webquests and competitions. Anything that goes against the traditional reading and questions.

A1: I have recently starting having students lead the drill or lead the class in reading/annotating text and it really seems to get students involved in the lesson. They feel in control of the classroom.

Found this website to connect students around the globe! Can't wait to try! Already thinking of projects which they create representations of their community to share!

I love teaching the government unit, I can imagine connecting my classroom to one in Canada or the UK to compare our governing documents and government structure. #ET630t4

Really like the idea of creating a comic book, it allows for more student creativity and engagement. There is also the opportunity to incorporate different apps and skills.
