NEW: Woman screams "I love you" and has to be helped out of prison after her husband was executed in Texas for killing two people. James Broadnax's wife, British law graduate Tiana Krasniqi, reportedly screamed and banged against the window as he was executed. She reportedly began a relationship with Broadnax after writing to him while he was in prison. Krasniqi claims her husband, whom she married just a few weeks ago, did not commit the crimes; however, prosecutors say he admitted to the killings in jailhouse interviews. Broadnax was convicted of killing two men during a robbery in Dallas, Texas, in 2008. "They killed my husband," Krasniqi said. "My husband suffered so bad from the lethal injection that he had a nosebleed and bruising on his neck. The families laughed as they watched. Is that justice?" She is now threatening to "expose everyone."

You guys aren't getting the point. When you realize you have an unhealthy attachment to a certain object, person, or anything else because it is routine or something that's just always been. It becomes hard for some people to let it go. It doesn't seem big in the scheme of things but it makes them realize losing something intimate to them doesn't mean the worst and will set their anxiety free. It is like that one video of the guy who had the wheel of metal wire his whole life and he got to the end and got very tearful. It is the realization of something like letting go of a familiar.

🍵This woman is standing in her kitchen at 6:30 in the morning, shaking, because she’s about to break her favorite mug she’s had for seven years... on purpose. It’s cracked but perfect — fits her tea lid exactly, never actually broken — yet every single time she uses it she has visions of the handle breaking off. In meditation she heard the message loud and clear: “What you’re holding on to holds you back.” So she’s doing it. She’s breaking the mug to release the attachment… and hopefully shift her timeline. I love how real and brave this feels. Sometimes the smallest things we cling to are the very things keeping us from moving forward. Have you ever had to let go of something small (or big) that you had an unhealthy attachment to — even if it felt silly at the time? What was it, and did it actually open something new for you?

I didn’t like USAID. But watching people gleefully mock a woman for having to start over at ~60 is bleak. You can disagree with someone’s politics without losing basic empathy. The internet has broken a lot of brains.

@KenGardner11 The left is a global movement. They want to make it so rich people can't move or hide from high taxes. they want to bring all cultures into their fold thinking that will bring everyone together in harmony. Anything, even their own country, in their way is to be hated.

Whatever my problems with Republicans, I'm adding this video clip to my "why I don't think that I can never vote for Democrats" file. You don't go abroad and talk like this when your country is at war. It's borderline treason.

Total disgrace. Democrat Chris Murphy slanders President Trump and America overseas: “Want to bring you greetings as well from a nation that is in crisis…this is the most significant threat to American democracy since the Civil War.”

@bonchieredstate French is the worst kind of supposed Christian. He doesn't represent the majority of Christ's teachings very well. He manipulates at worst. At best he isn't consistent on the application of whatever values he holds. He's the type of person who gives Christianity a bad rep.

French will write 100s of articles questioning the religion of people on the right, including mixing policy with theology (which he tries to separate here). But when it comes to transgenderism, universalism, and abortion, he’s unwilling to draw any lines. So transparent.
Allie Beth Stuckey@conservmillen

I asked David French about his article calling James Talarico a Christian example in light of Talarico’s statements in support of transing kids, abortion, and God being “non-binary.” French: “I’m just not willing to say James Talarico is not a Christian.” My response:

@conservmillen I recall once in maybe 10 years where I thought David was being serious. The rest of the time he's doing a very well orchestrated 'I'm on the right but hate the right narrative' that sells very well on left. Or he's just an open leftist now. Take your pick.

David French says he is furious at the Republican Party and claims abortions went up under Trump. I asked, “What did he do that caused abortions to rise?” French: “What I'm saying is, as I said earlier, this is a man who contributed to extraordinary growth in libertinism, especially on the right.” “Okay, do we have data that shows us that it's more people on the right that were getting abortions under Donald Trump?” French: “We don't have data.”

@KobeissiLetter Conservatives in 2016: Obama gave Iran $1.7 billion for his nuclear deal. Treason! Conservatives in 2026: Trump gave Iran $20 billion & spent another $20 billion fighting them to get pretty much the same deal Obama got. Genius!

BREAKING: The US is considering a "$20 billion cash-for-uranium deal" with Iran as part of a new "3 page peace plan," per Axios. Details include: 1. The US and Iran are negotiating over a 3-page plan to end the war 2. One element under discussion is that the US would release $20 billion in frozen Iranian funds in return for Iran giving up its stockpile of enriched uranium 3. Some of Iran's highly enriched uranium would be shipped to a third country and some would be down-blended in Iran under international monitoring 4. Iran would be allowed to have nuclear research reactors for the production of medical isotopes, but would pledge that all of its nuclear facilities would be above ground A second round of US-Iran talks is expected in Pakistan on Sunday.

@DastDn The best thing about Trump's foreign policy is that everyone believes he will do things no one else will. Including holding a blockade of Iran for the next three years. Something I am sure China doesn't like very much.

@avidseries Just so we're all clear. The housing price market will have to factor this in. The market will adjust but that doesn't mean prices go down, prices may go down (I have no idea how elastic they are) or may not. We'll see. But it certainly raises the annual costs of ownership.

The arguments for the Electoral College are all basically terrible and its original purpose (so that elites could block the masses from electing a populist demagogue) is clearly a failure.
James Surowiecki@JamesSurowiecki

There's no good civic argument for the electoral college. It was arguably necessary to ensure the ratification of the Constitution, but it's an anti-democratic device that gives some American citizens far more voting power than others, based purely on where they live.
