@StevenMAlderson Is this even real?! I kinda doubt such behaviour from NHS staff!

As a new FY1, having just certified my very first death - on a very, very, long night shift - I made myself a cup of NHS tea. The nurse in charge subsequently threatened me with disciplinary action for ‘stealing’. As a new ICU Registrar in Aus, I was asked for my address - so the hospital could send me a thank you hamper. The NHS is terrible employer.
Dr Haseena Wazir@DrHWazir

Overworked, underpaid, and subjected to unnecessary hostility. An NHS doctor was prevented from accessing the ward kitchen for a simple glass of tap water. It’s no surprise so many doctors are leaving for countries where they’re valued, respected, and treated with basic dignity.

Today I had a conversation with a PA who would love to be able to study medicine. But they are single parent and have a mortgage. Current funding arrangements make it *impossible* for someone in this situation to retrain and become a doctor. This is not ok.

“Why do doctors include nurses in their conversations about scope creep and pseudo-equivalence” Also the nurses:

Understandable confusion why we’re recommending this offer which isn’t FPR (in one go) Come and: - hear about the offer - why we recommend it’s the better route to FPR - ask questions! The alternative of reject and escalate is another possible route, which we’ll talk about too

@Xeon4f145d96s1 @gmcuk PAs don’t study medicine. PAs are “medical professionals”, to be registered by the General MEDICAL Council… but never studied Medicine…. Clear as mud from the GMC then

I actually do feel for the @gmcuk social media administrator. I hope they are able to separate work from personal and realise that the contempt thousands of doctors have (and show) is very much for the organisation and high-level policymakers rather than staffers.

@gmcuk @doctor_oxford @iDrSunny @wesstreeting @GMC I pity the poor person running your X account. You are not going to be able to convince doctors that this is all fine with good PR.

50-60% of PAs apply to medical school before they are rejected for not being good enough. Simultaneously 80-90% of all PAs achieve distinctions and 100% of PAs at this university have achieved a merit or distinction. Hmmmm.

So what happens with MPs who have lost their seats job wise? Like I'm not talking about Grant Schapps and that lot, I'm talking about someone who's been a Tory backbencher for like 20 years and just lost their seat.

@Dr_ErinLS Patient satisfaction in some studies is INVERSELY CORRELATED to morbidity and mortality outcomes. Happier. But dead.

?Controversial opinion Less weight should be placed on patient satisfaction scores e.g. for GP surgeries NOT saying it's not important - how my patients feel is the most important thing to me But Patient satisfaction may not be linked to the quality of care received
