@cjeverett @RyanChristieMD I ask because once you have sold your group, generations of Rads after you are locked out of the benefits of private practice that you & I had & don’t get the benefits of working those extra hours.
So extra work hours = filling wallets of private equity.
Maybe I’m wrong?
English

@ScottTruhlar @cjeverett Different strokes for different folks. I love what I do as well but I also love a lot of things that provide non-economic value to me, such as posting #wetreadCow Rad cases here on #MedTwitter. The point was that if the $$ is your goal, the return is diminishing. ow work away!😀
English

@RyanChristieMD @ScottTruhlar wish I was.. I’m employed for a PP…Always a gamble, but take same gamble with 401k, unless you are doing a roth
English

@ScottTruhlar @kpmd2000 Don't forget the 8th wonder of the world, compounding interest.$ when younger are more valuable in the future (assuming invested and not spent)
All about balance. Work extra when you're young to work less in the future, but don't forget to enjoy youth since the future is unknown
English

@kpmd2000 @RyanChristieMD I *think* your point is that taxes are the cost of a civilized society. I agree with that. My point was about the marginal utility of working harder & harder to make more & more income only to give more & more in taxes. It’s a bad trade given our limited lifespans.

@ScottTruhlar @bevo1212 I'd guess you're max optimized. 😀But every extra $ is taxed at the higher/est rate so the avg tax rate per dollar asymptotically approaches the max tax rates (albeit slowly). Deferring income is a gamble that your future tax rate for those $$ will be less than now... maybe
English

@bevo1212 @RyanChristieMD I’m self-employed in private practice. Don’t have a cash balance plan, but have optimized every other way to save on taxes and I still have an effective tax rate of 30%. And that’s only county state and federal taxes.
English

@twloehfelm @RyanChristieMD @SF_Red Wow. We’ve not qualified this sort of data within our systems but I can guarantee you it’s far, far lower positive rate than that. The consequences of overutilization seem to be nil for everyone except Radiology
English

@twloehfelm @northwoods1980 @SF_Red That actually is better than I expected. I usually see it closer to 10%. Wonder if COVID caused a bump in +.
