@AdamZHerman not to nit pick but edstrom has never played on the pk in NHL (just over 2 min in career). I had heard him and Sikora were a power kill tandom in HFD i believe though

TBD on Edström but when he was playing well NYR had no issues deploying him in defensive situations and on the PK. Whereas with Rempe, even when NYR coaches were praising him, it was in an extremely sheltered role for 7 minutes per night.

@vzmercogliano weird, lots of coach speak but like did he tell Eddy exactly what you want from him in his 3 shifts per period? How are you supposed to be "consistent" getting 8 minutes a night? Not a big deal overall but weird.

Adam Edström will be a healthy scratch for the 11th straight game tonight. @RyanO22000 I think you overestimate how easy it is to replace competent defenseman. Now granted, I'm probably making the same argument as you if it's Braden Schneider.

I will say it again... Will Borgen is actually kind of good and is signed to a pretty reasonable contract (especially in this cap environment). Whether or not he has a market is irrelevant, because the Rangers shouldn't be in the business of trading Borgen.

@theradiospiel He’s fine and about to be 30. If someone wants to talk trade, they should certainly listen.

@RyanO22000 On a macro level it was a return to form in 25-26. His 24-25 numbers were some of the worst of his career looking at HDCA, xGA, etc. 24-25 is the abberation. The solve is either finding a 2RHD to push him to pair three or dynamic puck moving 2LHD to pair with him on pair two.

@theradiospiel how have they looked in the past? Ive heard Sullivan can up the floor of certain types of d-men. He might be easily replaceable.

Borgen's suppression/defensive metrics are all perfectly in line with the Rangers this year (that is to say, kind of good at 5v5). He's up 17-11 since the break ended. Ideally, he's on a third pair with a puck mover, but he'd be just fine on a second pair with the right partner.

@lukefoxjukebox this seems extremely unnecessary for a sport who's average trade is a future 4th for a 28 year old 3rd pair LHD who is a pending UFA

@RyanO22000 @BillSimmons Simply put, it’s likely many players have benefited slightly from home stat keepers, but the extent to which Stockton did, if at all, didn’t impact him holding the records he’s got

@pokoneill @BillSimmons could be, I just know I had heard stuff about the Utah stat keepers, but Magic also seemed to average a lot better assists at home so maybe everybody did it.

@JCigan @BillSimmons thats a career number? I was looking more 85-86 through 92-93 and he seemingly averaged about 1.5 assists more per game at home. Eatons blocks follow the same trajectory starting in 85-86 usually averaging over 1 extra block per game at home.

@RyanO22000 @BillSimmons Not by much. Stockton averaged 10.88 assists per game with Utah stat keepers and 10.14 on the road.

@RyanO22000 @MFE80 @theradiospiel @Icecat94 Taking a step further further back, he burned a year of a three year ELC, but if his contract had started in the fall he was only eligible for a two year ELC. This didn't affect the timing of his next contact. The margin lost is 3 weeks of ELC salary.
