@SlowToWrite @farmingandJesus I respect your opinion and agree with just about everything I see you post. I’m curious, if a husband murdered his 10 year old child in cold blood, would that be grounds for divorce from the wife? Someone else posted this question and I did not see a response from you.

@farmingandJesus Separation? Yes. Divorce? As hard as it would be to experience that, the answer is no.

@carbonmfg @PearlKevinPrice Joseph smith himself claimed to both read and write in English, German, Greek, and Hebrew. So which is it? Was he truly some linguistic scholar or was he a liar and actually some “uneducated farm boy”? Mormons sure love to paint their prophet as an idiot.

@PearlKevinPrice Sure, an uneducated farmboy prepared for months in order to dictate 270,000 words flawlessly. This is cognitive dissonance my guy - you are so convinced that it can't be authentic that you embrace absurd concepts in order to convince yourself that you are correct.

@Grownded Do you believe your current theology aligns with the theology of Joseph smith and many of the prophets who came after him?

"You believe in a different Jesus!" You mean the Eternal God that was with the Father in the beginning? You mean the Word by which all things were created? You mean the Only Begotton of the Father? You mean the Great I Am who spoke to Adam, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Elijah, Jeremiah, etc? You mean the babe the Virgin Mary conceived through the power of the Holy Spirit and bore in a stable? You mean the Jesus that inspired all the heavens to sing Gloria Hosannah to mere shepherds watching their sheep by night? You mean the child who amazed the teachers in the temple? You mean the one mightier than John who was baptized of him to fulfill all righteousness? You mean the Messiah who healed the sick, made the lame to walk, the blind to see, the lepers to be healed, forgave the sinner, rebuked the Pharisees, and cleansed His Father's House? You mean the Jesus who suffered the weight of the sins of mankind, bled from every pore, was condemned by the Jews and crucified by the Romans? You mean the Jesus that died, broke the gates of hell to release the prisoners, and took life to himself through resurrection on the third day and broke the bonds of death for all mankind? You mean the Jesus that redeemed all mankind that they might not suffer the sorrows of sin and the passions of hell if they but repent and follow Him? You mean the Jesus that organized his Apostles and gave them authority to go forth preaching and baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit? You mean the Jesus that ascended to the Father and will come again in great glory and wrath to cleanse the Earth of wickedness bind the devil, and personally reign on earth for a thousand years? Huh.... Sounds familiar.

@Mormonger Because God knew that even if He said it explicitly the Mormons would still find a way to twist and disregard it - see Isaiah 43:10.

If the Trinity is the central doctrine of Christianity… Why is there not a single verse that says: "God is three persons in one essence" ?

@Piecemaker2121 While I have fundamental theological disagreements with Catholics, I expect to see some of them in heaven. I’m sure they would say the same of me. However, neither of us would say that about Mormons.

@Piecemaker2121 I think you misunderstand how Protestants, Catholics, and orthodox Christians see LDS’s. Respectfully, you are not our brothers in Christ. Any person you convert to your religion is another soul lost to Hell. While we use the same words, we do not mean the same things.

I don't get it. Wouldn't Protestants, Catholics, et al. WANT members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as allies fighting on their side against the great evils of our day? Aren't there more pressing issues in the world that we could fight together despite our slight differences in Christian theology? This is literally how we see you from other faiths. Why go to such great lengths to exclude, vilify, tear down, and misrepresent our beliefs? Can you not afford us even an inkling of grace? Would it hurt to give us the benefit of the doubt even if only sometimes? Is believing that The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are separate beings really that big of an issue to where we are now worthy of attack? The reason Latter-day Saints still try to associate ourselves with you in an interfaith context is BECAUSE we want to fight those evils with you. We share so many of the same values and want many of the same things. It's just silly.

@RebelReformer @ApoloJedi_ Evolutionary biology states that if I’m the fittest, I deserve to survive and you don’t. If an evolutionary biologist condemns slavery, they’re stealing from the Christian worldview. They have zero objective moral grounding to justify their beliefs based on their worldview.

@sp1fffX @thesanityrevolt Would you really rather admit that it’s because he burned down the Nauvoo expositor and had created his own army to act at his bidding? Yeah, I’d stick with the polygamy if I were you.

@thesanityrevolt Polygamy had nothing to do with Joseph Smith's murder at the hands of a protestant lynch mob.

@manmotion @GuyInco15542744 God has never prescribed polygamy. Whether or not you can consider Jacob’s multiple wives “sinful” or not, it was not endorsed by God. Genesis 2:24. One man. One woman.

Peter - denies Jesus 3 times - flawed but amazing man called of God Moses- kills a man. Has multiple wives - flawed but amazing man called of God. Joseph - hides something from his wife that would hurt her - vile person who couldn’t possibly called of God Make it make sense

@AaronAsher11 @Sola_Requiem Why do you think Joseph had a pistol smuggled to him inside prison in the first place? You cannot use the “he was defending himself” argument without acknowledging that he must have had plans to use that pistol in some nefarious way prior to the mob showing up.

@Sola_Requiem Well, that makes sense. Joseph Smith was also slaughtered while trying to defend himself. Early followers were slaughtered too. The hatred doesn’t die. It’s growing.

@TheGermanicist No, I’m just not falling into your trap. If I thought your question was genuine (it’s not), you’d get a very different answer. Alas, I don’t think we’ll get anywhere.

@the_jake_bastow @TheGermanicist @WordProvesTrue Im not deflecting. God’s moral law is moral truth no matter who believes it. The 10 commandments are not “Jewish” truth. They are just truth. Give me one element of “truth” within Hinduism that is unique to that religion.

@RymanHarrison @TheGermanicist @WordProvesTrue You’re deflecting. Jewish beliefs do, at least, have some element of truth to them. It’s ok to admit there are some elements of truth in other religions without feeling like your own faith or religion is threatened by it.
