I went on a mission because I studied the Book of Mormon and came to know Jesus Christ and wanted to share that with others. I don’t know a single person in the Church who any knowledge of the scriptures who tries to earn their salvation

@Piecemaker2121 I think you misunderstand how Protestants, Catholics, and orthodox Christians see LDS’s. Respectfully, you are not our brothers in Christ. Any person you convert to your religion is another soul lost to Hell. While we use the same words, we do not mean the same things.

I don't get it. Wouldn't Protestants, Catholics, et al. WANT members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as allies fighting on their side against the great evils of our day? Aren't there more pressing issues in the world that we could fight together despite our slight differences in Christian theology? This is literally how we see you from other faiths. Why go to such great lengths to exclude, vilify, tear down, and misrepresent our beliefs? Can you not afford us even an inkling of grace? Would it hurt to give us the benefit of the doubt even if only sometimes? Is believing that The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are separate beings really that big of an issue to where we are now worthy of attack? The reason Latter-day Saints still try to associate ourselves with you in an interfaith context is BECAUSE we want to fight those evils with you. We share so many of the same values and want many of the same things. It's just silly.

Galatians 1:8 is talking about the creeds and their false religions, not about Joseph Smith.
