Although S2S4E has ended, our research team has been working to update and expand the Tall Tower Dataset developed during the project, a global database of wind series from 250+ meteorological tall towers, now spanning up to 2022. 👉talltowers.bsc.es #climateservices

The wind speed in Europe in 2021 compared to the last decades was very low: for 3-5 weeks this summer the speed was consistently low, often the lowest since 1980. Data from @CopernicusECMWF ERA5. Note: weekly wind speed correlates perfectly with wind power generation.
