NEW: San Francisco judge Linda Colfax has released a man who fatally assaulted an 84-year-old because the prison sentence would have a "poor impact" on him. 25-year-old Antoine Watson was granted probation just two months after he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and assault. Watson violently assaulted Vicha Ratanapakdee in 2021, which resulted in his death just two days later. He was acquitted of first-and second-degree murder charges and instead convicted of involuntary manslaughter. Colfax says Watson being in prison would have a "poor impact" on him and didn't think he should be there because he "expressed remorse," according to the SF Chronicle. Colfax is accused of hiding details from the jury in an apparent effort to help Watson escape prison time. Infuriating and evil.

@Shugoofie Silver & Patagonia have little in common. Patagonia's only issue is volume . Very illiquid. So when mkt becomes irrational or you run into a liquidity issue and need to sell you will be punished heavily. Patagonia is a Co. You must hold medium to long term. Rewards will be 🚀

The White House and the Pentagon are considering sending at least 10,000 additional combat troops to the Middle East in the coming days, significantly increasing the number of ground forces the United Stated has in the region as another signal that a major ground operation in Iran is being seriously prepared, a senior U.S. defense official confirmed to Axios. Defense official expects the decision to be made next week and said the troops will be from different combat units than the ones which have already been sent to the region, while more reinforcements, including several fighter jet squadrons and thousands of troops, are expected to arrive in the Middle East in the coming days and weeks, as President Trump continues to consider escalation against Iran.

🚨BREAKING: Axios is reporting Iran’s Supreme Leader has NOT yet approved negotiations with the U.S. However despite this, and despite claiming otherwise publicly, Iranian officials ARE interested in negotiations The source told Axios: “The main problem has been mistrust and the Iranian suspicion that the U.S. is tricking them again” My thoughts: This is significant, but it’s concerning if the Supreme Leader has not OK’d these negotiations. This report is based on one source speaking to Axios, so take it with a grain of salt.

🚨🇮🇷🇨🇳 Iran reportedly turned back 2 Chinese state-owned container ships trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. China was supposedly on the approved list. Tehran now says only ships carrying household goods, cars, clothing, and pharmaceuticals for Iran can pass. The squeeze on Hormuz keeps getting tighter. Source: Wall Street Journal

Selling paper oil (futures) when there isn’t any physical product behind it is the ultimate pushing on the string (actually worse) When the future expires and they can’t deliver the physical, what do they do? 1) First, they buy the paper back (which drives the oil price up) 2) They print money to cover the paper loss 3) The printing of more money drives up the price of everything Brilliant

Call me insane but I think gold needs to retest ~$4850 and Silver ~$80 even if we're in a bear market This looks constructive on gold imo, retesting the important pivot at $4350 and holding

@SBates8019 Yeah, $TAL.TO is a decent business. I like it, but I do prefer a few other names over it. That said, it’s not a bad one at all. Personally, I’d be more interested on a proper breakout and reclaim through the 60s zone...

🇹🇷 A crude oil tanker was reportedly hit by a naval drone near the Bosphorus (a major shipping route in Turkey). The ship started drifting, needed a tug, and is now barely moving. No one knows whose drone it was.

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇱🇮🇷 They thought bombing Iran might spark an uprising. Turns out the regime is still very much in charge. So now it’s back to just breaking their military instead. Israel's reportedly aiming to cause long-term damage before a possible U.S.-led push to end the war Source: WSJ

Canada needs to build a pipeline. Fast. When the West faced an old shortage during World War II, the US built the Big Inch Pipeline. 1,200 miles of pipeline built in months. Crews laid 9 miles per day of pipeline - with 1942 technology. Northern Gateway has been in review since 2006 (20+ years). Northern Gateway is about half the length of Big Inch. We have much better technology than we used to. Let's just build!
