@NokhaDakroub @BonnieCrombie @fordnation I live in Mississauga and I agree this one time with @fordnation on stopping the dissolution. If Mississauga separates it will cost the people of Mississauga a 17% increase in property taxes.. 17%!!!!! I absolutely do not want to pay that.

When I ran for council in 2022, I campaigned for the dissolution of Peel Region. Everyone told me it would never happen. But I believed in @BonnieCrombie then and I believe in her now. @sporachhi This is remedy for Bill 124. We have already negotiated and received a flat rate increase. These increase will be added to our wage rates as well. A significant win indeed

On the day ETFO voted 95% in favour of strike action if necessary, predictably Lying Lecce is claiming he "has made a deal with OSSTF, the largest teacher union". What he means is that there is an agreement to use binding arbitration. Contracts have not been settled. #OntEd

As for coordinating a strike, that would require enforcement which no individual member could reasonably do. Members can exercise their conscience.

Today I am tabling the Improving Air Quality for Our Children Act, 2023. If adopted, this bill will help improve air quality in our classrooms and licensed childcare facilities. I hope that folks from all sides can stand behind this important issue for our kids #onted
