The West Bengal Index
The West Bengal Index@TheBengalIndex·
।। The 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 বৈঠক ।। A sum of ₹4,000 crore could modernize nearly 35–40 km of Kolkata’s tram network with new AC low-floor trams, rebuilt tracks, smart stations, upgraded depots and dedicated lanes, creating a modern 21st century Light Rail Transit (LRT) system. West Bengal currently operates roughly 2,200–2,300 government buses across state transport operators. In comparison, Karnataka operates over 22,000 government buses, Tamil Nadu around 20,000, Maharashtra over 15,000 and Gujarat more than 11,000. The same ₹4,000 crore could alternatively fund the purchase of around 6,500 AC CNG buses or roughly 2,000–2,500 electric AC buses, potentially transforming public transport connectivity across much larger parts of the state. Should Bengal prioritize building a world-class modern tram/LRT system to put Kolkata back on the world map, or use that money to massively expand bus connectivity across the state? Please share your thoughts 👇🏻💭

The internet: "Oppo Find X9 Pro battery life is insane!" Reality: 5h 53m SOT and sitting at 21%😭 Testing a second Find X9 Pro (Silk White) as a secondary device because people claimed my first unit was a fluke. It wasn't. A 7500mAh battery sweating to cross 6 hours of SOT on basic scrolling apps is just wild. Hardware numbers look great on paper, but the real-world calibration isn't there yet.

@coversure_in @avyaktayaa @hello__harshit You are making changes that's good, but what about us, who bought the pro membership thinking that no additional fees will be applicable for furthermore transactions. If that was the case I would never have taken the pro membership.

Using PhonePe Select Black during a Flipkart sale? 👀 Thinking you unlocked a double dip of: → Instant SBI discount → Extra 5% cashback Not really: After 2–3 months, SBI usually claws back the cashback on those “SBI offer” transactions. Thumb rule 🧠 Whenever the offer is s SBI-specific, don’t use PhonePe Select Black expecting an extra 5%. You’re just wasting your monthly cashback cap for nothing.
FinPaal@FinPaal

SBI Cashback ≠ PhonePe Select Black Got your PhonePe Select Black Card? Thinking it’s almost same as SBI Cashback Card? Here’s what you should know 👇 Rewards Cycle PhonePe → Calendar month SBI CB → Statement cycle Rewards redemption PhonePe → Points (convert to statement credit via call/mail: customercare@sbicard.com) SBI CB → Direct cashback to card MCC advantage PhonePe → Gift cards & jewelry NOT excluded ✅ Hassle free experience on CRED. Milestone benefit ₹5L spend → ₹5K Yatra voucher Lounge access PhonePe → 4 domestic/year SBI CB → No lounge Bottom line: SBI CB = Simple cashback PhonePe = Needs effort, but can give extra value 👍

Yes, the Vivo X300 Ultra might be pricier than the S26 Ultra or Xiaomi 17 Ultra, but don’t treat them as identical rivals. The S26 Ultra sells on UI polish and brand prestige, but when you step outside that brand bubble, the X300 Ultra’s camera capabilities put it in another league. Different products, different strengths!

Most people redeem points at 1:1… and still lose money 👎 Bookmark this 🔖 Using → HDFC SmartBuy (For Flights/Hotels) → ICICI iShop (For Flights/Hotels) at 1:1 value? You’re leaving serious money on the table ‼️ What you THINK 👇 I am getting full value for my points. Smart move. Reality 👇 You’re capping your upside. What you’re MISSING 👇 Transfer points to Airline ✈️ / Hotel 🏨 partners → Economy redemption: ~INR 1 –INR 1.5 / point → Business/First class: INR 1.5 – INR 5+ / point That’s 2x–5x more value 💰 Example 👇 Same points = • Economy ticket via SmartBuy ✈️ • OR Business Class via partner 😎 Your choice. Rule to remember 👇 ❌ 1:1 redemption = Convenience ✅ Transfer partners = Optimization Want sweet spots? Comment below 👇 #ccgeek #ccgeeks #Hdfc #Icici

For some people in the replies: 1️⃣ He's upgrading from a vivo X90 Pro, and actually desires an overall upgrade. So midrange phones like the Nord 6 won't work for his case. Budget is not an issue either, I was searching for the best value phone under ₹1 lakh. 2️⃣ Here's the screenshot from OnePlus' Online Store, you be the judge. 3️⃣ I cannot consider OPPO Find X9 series because I'm already using the Find X9 Pro: he prefers something else for variety (and also because it is very hard to convince him on any other Android brand except OnePlus, vivo and Samsung) 4️⃣ He prefers brand new phones, so even barely used options from TIAA is literally not an option in this case.

Went to check OnePlus 15 online (dad is phone searching these days so we were interested in considering this for a purchase) Turns out there's absolutely zero stock on OnePlus' Online Store, and Amazon seems to have limited stock (Only 16/512 in Sand Storm colorway available) Asked three offline stores near my house, they don't have the device in stock (naturally, since they were rumoured to pull out of offline markets), so no luck there either. What's happening with this phone? I hope they do a restock soon or else I will have to spend even more on some other phone 💀
