So another change in Children’s Minister who has responsibility for SEND. 7 ministers have come and gone since the SEND Review (2019) with no progress. So the reforms that are so badly needed are once again kicked down the road.

@BethBarnsley That’s what I was thinking - can I ask you another - are we/should we be moving away from the DSM/ medical model?

@SENexchange Identity first language unless the individual has another preference. That's the autistic community's preference.

@_SENDavid_ This is a great graphic - but what about when you are talking more generally, a cohort/need type?

Might be a bit late for a sensible post but here goes I have a pre-verbal child with poor motor control. He's very bright and a great reader. (Read a word and ask him to point it out=success everytime) We're thinking of ways to assess him to see just how great he is. Any ideas?
