I'm building a web based fast paced grand strategy game. You battle with hundreds of players on huge maps. The goal is to build stuff, send warships, fire nukes at each other, and ultimately conquer most of the map. borderhold.io/play

The code is open source: github.com/stjepangolemac… Built with deterministic randomness too - use --seed flag for reproducible games. Give it a try and let me know if you can rule without being compared to Nero! 4/4

My favorite part: the original Hammurabi was one of the first strategy games ever created (1968!). It taught resource management through simple mechanics: - Buy/sell land - Plant crops - Feed your people - Hope the rats don't eat everything Still holds up 56 years later. 3/n

Just published my terminal game "Hammurabi" - a Rust recreation of the 1968 BASIC classic! 🎮 You're the ancient ruler of Babylon. Manage grain, land, and people through 10 years of tribulation. Make the wrong choices and your people starve. cargo install hammurabi 1/n

Last year my AI apps took off very fast After sharing the revenue on here, my GPU provider instantly gouged me by increasing the price by 600%. Not just me, @dannypostma too. It essentially made us not profitable anymore esp with refunds/disputes/fees considered I immediately started looking for alternatives Those few months lots of CEOs from GPU platforms messaged me One interaction was especially weird with the CEO of one big GPU platform seemingly being on some Adderall-fueled binge DM'ing me for days straight about "getting his GPUs": "Dude quick grab the a6000" "Did you get your a100?????" "Lol I hope u r faster this time" That gave me such weird vibes. I understand GPUs are in high demand but it just seemed like such a strange way of communicating that. Especially weirded out after coming from my previous GPU provider who gouged me and was also not very nice. When @bfirsh, the CEO of Replicate DM'd me he asked about my problems and how he could help. I told him I needed Dreambooth to train models to then generate images of people for Avatar AI Back then Replicate was only for very short-running AI jobs like 30 seconds. Training a Dreambooth AI model took like 30 minutes. It wasn't really in their focus or possible with their stack. But somehow, @bfirsh made it work for me. They manually set up the models themselves and helped us get it working so we could switch from Everyone else at @Replicate (like @anotherjesse) has been pretty much like that, super down-to-earth, respectful, honest, friendly, chill people who want to help you make better AI startups 🙏 Best of all, no 💊 Adderall!

Replicate raises $40Mil and @levelsio and @dannypostma are mentioned in the announcement post by @bfirsh This is both rewarding to see and also aspirational. Great on @bfirsh for actually acknowledging their solo big fishes! Many more to come @replicate 🚀🚀🚀

If you add natural disasters, earthquakes, climate change risk, in addition to terror risk, you're left with only these countries who don't have any of that: 🇵🇹 Portugal 🇵🇱 Poland 🇭🇺 Hungary 🇷🇴 Romania 🇧🇬 Bulgaria nomadlist.com/safe-places-wi… * and which are safe + many nomads

Goodness me.. Synthia-7B-v1.3, trained on the Mistral-7B base, achieves 64.85 on the 4-evals used in HuggingFace. LLaMA-2-70B-Chat is 66.8. Is there any data contamination on the Mistral-7B, or is this legit? Just asking a question..

Considering how buggy their other apps are (looking at you Music), Safari still has a way to go but it's on the right track. At least I hope tab groups got fixed as they'd just randomly resurrect old tabs before and lose opened ones. This is sad. 4/4

This is a complete failure of an update. They just needed to follow other browsers but they decided to ship something different, it being unusable and impractical. I was really looking forward to this but I guess I need to keep using other browsers. 3/4

New Safari profiles are useless for me. They live in completely separate windows, which breaks the workflow if you use Safari in fullscreen. If you try to use the clunky switch to go to another profile it ignores the existing window and opens a new one. 1/4

Apps like @RevolutApp need to design #UX for very-seldom customers too. I just tried to send some money after a year of not using it and each step displayed some sort of upsell, like a freemium mobile game. I get these are spaced out otherwise, but here they're a slideshow.
