A DPRK-linked actor targeted a Zerion team member last week with an AI-enabled social engineering attack. $100K in company funds were lost. User funds were never at risk, and apps, infrastructure, and the API were unaffected. We proactively took down the Zerion web app, rotated every compromised credential, and scanned all devices. Thanks to @Blockaid, @zeroshadow_io, and @ChainPatrol for tracing and flagging the attacker wallets.

‼️ Booking.com has been breached — threat actors accessed customer data and reservations, and are actively abusing it. A Reddit user says he reported the breach over two weeks ago after being phished with his own reservation details, but Booking said everything was fine on their end. BREAKING: Bitcoin developers have proposed BIP-361 to freeze early Bitcoin addresses that have quantum vulnerabilities. This includes Satoshi wallets and other OG dormant wallets from the 2010-11 era. It's a big step, as these wallets hold over 4M BTC and are at high risk from future quantum computing attacks.

Update on the ongoing security incident: We are currently working with @0xGroomLake on the investigation. Initial findings suggest the DNS provider hosting the app domain was socially engineered, allowing an attacker to redirect the domain. Neutrl smart contracts remain secure and have been temporarily paused as a precaution. Please do not interact with the protocol until further notice is provided. We will continue to share updates as more information becomes available as well as a full post mortem.

DeFi protocol teams, PLEASE go over your domain and DNS security setup before this happens to you. @_SEAL_Org's recommendation: choose a secure registrar such as Cloudflare, MarkMonitor, or AWS Route53, lock registrar access with hardware security keys, enable registry lock + DNSSEC, set CAA, protect against domain expiry, and monitor for registrar, NS, A/AAAA, DNSSEC, CAA, TTL, and certificate changes.
