@happiestporch 1) Cadets/Mids that go to the draft have always been in uniform. It’s a PA move and I would imagine their permit for attendance is contingent on the uni.
2) The NDAA limits SA players to the draft at 3/year.
3) Service commitment = 4 yr for most careers

@yugopnik Weapons are outlawed based on superfluous injury, unnecessary suffering (gas), or are indiscriminate (land mines). Hard to argue that FPV drones fall in any of those categories. You’re just reacting emotionally cause you’re seeing the casualties up close

The only reason drone warfare isn’t treated like nerve gas or land mines under international law is because it isn’t the West’s sons dying from it. As soon as it’s not Ivans being blown to bits but Johns and Toms the “discussion on the ethics of drone warfare” will become a mainstream talking point.

BIG WIN: Tazewell Circuit Court just enjoined the certification of the special election!!
UPDATE: From the Tazewell Circuit Court, the Judge reaffirmed all prior rulings, declared the referendum as unconstitutional and the amendment process of HB 1384 as unconstitutional. He entered injunctive relief and specifically enjoyed the certification of the election. He denied a motion to stay pending appeal. A final order will be entered once drafted.

@rawsalerts As someone who has close ties with air traffic control, I can tell you this isn't abnormal, and isn't really a big deal. Pilots and controllers have incredibly stressful jobs, and sometimes some comedic relief is helpful. Relax.

The frequency they “meow” on is our “Guard” frequency, supposed to be reserved for emergencies.
This is a common thing unfortunately & is stupid. I support penalties for these pilots. Just because you can’t hear an emergency doesn’t mean ATC can’t & you are blocking them.
