Dr. N. Thirumala Naik, CCS, chaired a virtual review meeting with DEO-cum-DPCs and other district-level functionaries to assess key departmental initiatives. The discussion focused on land selection for GMAPV, progress under NILP–ULLAS, identification of students for the Annual Supplementary HSC Examination, infrastructure and classroom requirements, and legal matters. The meeting aimed to strengthen implementation and enhance learning outcomes across the state.

6 #IAS Officer Trainees of the 2025 batch visited the Odisha School Education Programme Authority as part of their exposure visit to gain firsthand insights into the implementation of key educational initiatives and governance practices in the School & Mass Education Department. During the interaction, Dr. N. Thirumala Naik, CCS highlighted the importance of various flagship schemes and innovative interventions being undertaken to strengthen school education across the State.

The results of the Annual Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Odisha have been declared successfully. Out of 3,98,090 students who appeared for the examination, 3,41,781 students passed, registering an overall pass percentage of 85.85%. Stream-wise pass percentage: Arts – 84.50% Science – 88.82% Commerce – 88.07% Vocational – 77.62% Heartiest congratulations to all successful students on their achievement.

A five-day workshop on the development of a Resource Persons’ Training Module commenced today at the conference hall of SILTT, Bhubaneswar, and will continue till 22 May 2026. The workshop aims to prepare dedicated and active Resource Persons for English training at the Elementary and Secondary school levels. The sessions are being led by Dr. Umesh Prasad Pattanaik along with eminent educationists and Resource Persons. Director, Smt. Sumita Das was also present during the discussions.

Outstanding performance by students of the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan in the CBSE Class XII Board Examination 2025–26. The Science Stream recorded a 73.5% pass percentage, with 112 students securing above 90%. Priyadarshini Behera of OAV Dhobatota, Kandhamal emerged as the Science topper with 97.6%. The Commerce Stream achieved an impressive 88.9% pass percentage, marking a significant improvement over the previous year, with 14 students scoring above 90%. Disha Saha of OAV Sanmouda, Mayurbhanj topped the Commerce Stream with 96.8%. To strengthen citizen-centric governance through technology, the School & Mass Education Department, Government of Odisha, in collaboration with @OCAC_Odisha, conducted a specialised AI capacity-building programme for state-level officers across various directorates. The results of the Annual High School Certificate (Matric) Examination 2026 have been declared. Out of 5,36,306 students who appeared for the examination, 5,19,251 successfully passed, registering an impressive overall pass percentage of 95.33%. A special congratulations to the 3,310 schools that achieved a 100% pass rate. Heartiest congratulations to all the successful students.

Smt. Amita Pattanaik, Additional Director, Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA), visited different government schools and hostels in Jajpur district to review the on-ground implementation of key flagship programmes. She visited institutions including PM SHRI Government High School, Badachana; Khaira; KGBV, Sujanpur; OAV, Jamdhar; and Baidyarajpur UP School. During the visit, she assessed FLN outcomes, the implementation of Shishuvatika, and PM SHRI activities, and reviewed academic processes, infrastructure, hygiene, and safety measures. She also examined the functioning and safety of KGBV hostels, girls’ education initiatives, and ongoing academic activities. She further held a review meeting at the DPO, Samagra Shiksha, Jajpur, to assess the progress of ongoing schemes and programmes. Interacting with inmates of KGBV hostel and staff, she emphasized the importance of quality improvement and effective programme implementation to strengthen the overall education ecosystem.
