@vjgtweets Some of the candidates I visited the temples with were allowed to do exactly that. And that was the entire point of the piece. But I understand you might not want to read it — outrage farming and rage baiting online on a single sentence is far more lucrative.

Typically NO ONE is allowed into the inner sanctum other than the presiding priest. In all my years of going to temples, I've never seen a devotee in there. If you have evidence that a particular temple is literally screening people who request entry, you should name the temple, and I will join you in condemning them. Otherwise, this is just slander.
Yashica Dutt@YashicaDutt

Which Hindu temple in NY allows a Dalit person to enter the INNER SANCTUM (not just inside) — where the pujari offers prayers to the idol? As a Dalit Bhangi woman I’ll look forward to visiting a temple where I’ll be allowed to touch the idol & offer prayers in the inner sanctum.

@McBeaner69 @ShinMarginalScr That shows intransigence. Your religion doesn't mandate slaughter of cows. To respect Hindu sensitivities, you can't even bring yourselves to not slaughter it while asking the moon from others so that your sensitivities are respected is hypocrisy Also, Nepal bans cow slaughter.

@SNIPER_railfan @ShinMarginalScr The agreement was mostly about political and economic representation As long as the cow slaughter isn’t done in front of Hindus, no issue. Nor should u care That’s what Muslims in Nepal do all the time

@SNIPER_railfan @ShinMarginalScr This pact would have prevented the existence of Pakistan since Bengali Muslims wouldn’t even bother being hard supporters of it if the pact had passed

@centerofright Nobody can resign. If they resign, they create a vacancy. Special election would be necessary. In 1 single seat, the seat will be won by BJP as they have 200+ MLAs. RS in special elections is dead as dodo for her. And next regularly scheduled RS election is not until 2029.

Josephs win is defacto congress win. Bad result. TN demographically may end up like AP. Actually the worst possible result as congress with 5 seats now holds undue leverage I guess

@PMNehru Christianity was less than half of Nagaland in 1951. Within 20 years, exactly after independence, it was 2/3rd. What magic happened after independence?

Mr Kanoongo here is implying that PM Nehru had imposed a ban on the entry of Hindu priests in North-East India after the advice of a 'missionary' friend. Before I school this dimwit, I'd like to correct his fake claim. The original claim about Nehru is that he imposed the ban only on Nagaland. I remember it because it's all over the internet. How does Priyank expect to rise up the ranks in BJP when he can't even spread the lies properly? Moving on to the fact-check. > Sadhus were never banned by Nehru from entering Nagaland. THERE IS NO OFFICIAL DOCUMENT TO SUPPORT THIS CLAIM. > The ban that Kanoongo is referring to is mentioned in a report dated 15 October 1964. Nehru had died four months ago. > How could Nehru sign a pact/impose an order four months after his death? > So what was this ban? Truth is that entry from Mainland India was restricted because of the insurgency in Nagaland, that started in 1950s. This was a blanket restriction, not just limited to Hindus. > So how did Nagaland become predominantly Christian? The missionaries were present in Nagaland since late 19th century because of the British rule. Does Priyank remember who supported this rule, who was the crown's most obedient servant? > The 'missionary' friend that Priyank has mentioned is Verrier Elwin BTW. He was Nehru's advisor on NEFA (Present day Arunachal Pradesh). Nagaland was never part of NEFA, so Elwin didn't have any say here. Now I want Priyank to share with me an official document that supports his claim of Nehru banning Hindus in North East. Bhaagna mat @KanoongoPriyank. No pun intended.

@Stingrette No industrial base? Ford had a car manufacturing plant in India since 1933. Walchand Hirachand manufactured airplanes. Except Japan we were the only Asian country that manufactured indigenously steel. What more industrial base do you want?

Twitter has made everyone a post-facto planner. 1950s India had 18% literacy, no industrial base, and a broken state. You’re expecting perfect parallel execution like it’s a 2020 policy sandbox. He didn’t “ignore” human capital, he built the very institutions people benefit from today. Easy to critique with outcomes in hand, harder to govern without them.
Dialectical Parippuvada@tovarischrizzz

Nehru's mistake was not in thinking he could centrally plan his way into industrialization. It was in skipping a key step in the Soviet model, of parallel investment in human capital. He tried building Elite industrialism for the Bombay boys while ignoring primary edu, hcare.

All lessons of secularism die when the state involved is non Hindu majority. Mizoram has Christian hymns in their oath ceremonies. Meghalaya doesn't allow a cremation ground for Hindus. Shillong doesn't have a single one. Punjab has no Hindus in its minority commission.
कुशल मेहरा@kushal_mehra

a non constitutional body having so much say over an elected government is a sign of worry. All the lessons of secularism in India seem to die when it comes to Punjab.

Not all file mercy petitions. We have many revolutionaries who never wrote mercy petitions and later on became founding member of communist party! So, stop this nonsense and accept that Sorryworker was a coward!

Western countries acquired land, cut trees & industrialised before the climate activists were born. Now when it’s India’s turn to build infrastructure, these guys have woken up. LOL

To Understand #TheGreatNicobarProject, watch Kunal Kamra's 22-minute video, "GoodBye Nicobar." The Great Nicobar Project will destroy not just 850,000 trees, but approximately 10 million. The government's sole aim is to benefit Adani.

@GabbbarSingh That's not true. They industrialised by deforestation and later realised the consequences of that, so now they give more focus to nature. We have those examples in front of us, but our country is still doing the same thing for billionaire friends of the PM.
