@SO3_aWEsome

Love the RN. Enjoy the odd adversarial exchange-sometimes about stuff I know a bit about. Pls don't follow me, tweets get more dickish after too much caffene.

Britain’s Astute Class attack submarines are exceptional in every way. So are our Typhoon and F-35B aircraft. The new Type 26 frigate is a peerless warship. Our P8 Poseidon MPA are state-of-the-art. Boxer takes protected mobility to the next level. Challenger 3 is shaping up nicely. The UK’s drone / UAS strategy will absolutely give us a source of competitive advantage. And our new Dreadnought nuclear missile submarines will be second to none when they arrive. So, yes, there are issues with defence procurement and we need more money to purchase additional capabilities, but overall we have made some great choices and difficult trade-offs. There’s a lot to be proud of. Please remember this next time you feel like slagging off UK defence.

@SO3_aWEsome @bat020 Then the appeasement of cutting the numbers to six by the head sheds is unforgivable

obviously stories like this are part of a lobbying effort for more defence spending but I keep reading stories about a crisis in the navy and their last outing in the Red Sea against the Houthis was an embarrassment (which is why we don't hear much about it).

@tinman197474747 @bat020 For balance Navies work off the assumption of 3 vessels for 1 task: one on task, one recovering (leave, deep maintenance, one preparing (training, leave, maintenance). T45s have been hindered by the PiP debacle, Storob as not enough spares bought and manpower shortage.

@SO3_aWEsome @bat020 So when the threat is low, two of our six (shockingly low btw) T45’s are at ready state. Ask the army where is the money? Can someone please start pointing the finger at the army who said they could do Iraq and Afghanistan together, they didn’t need to strip assets.

@bat020 The Royal Navy did excellent. No idea what evidence you base your opinion on that they didnt. Be interesting how you reached your conclusion?

@SO3_aWEsome sorry I don't quite follow you. is there a link between that story and what the British got up to or are you just saying relative navy performance wise the Brits did fine and the Danes got into a spot of bother.

@NavyLookout @HMSIronDuke HNoMS Maud is essential for CSG 25. She can hold Five times the amount of stores as a Tide Class. Maud also has a fully functional hospital, complete with operating theatre, x-ray, quarantine and intensive care facilities. The ship has beds available to treat up to 48 patients.

This Queen Elizabeth memorial. I get that some people want it. I don’t and I resent my taxes going to pay for it. Those who do want it can pay by a subscription scheme. I pay my taxes for the NHS, schools and public services not for a statue costing an eye watering £46 million.

@ratboy101203 @dave43law Dave doesn't mention that we imported over 233,000 tonnes of beef from Ireland in 2023 worth over a £1B. So the increase of £1m a year to £5m from the deals are just pissing in the wind. But he has to get his engagement farming pushed somehow.

This is important All those posturing Tories and desperate Reform cosplay farmers pretending to stand up for the threatened farming community. Guess what - they all totally screwed the farmers over Brexit and trade deals and the data proves it

1.5 million houses in 5 years That’s 822 built every day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Is that really going to happen? 🧐 Do we have the manpower & materials?
