Really worth a listen if you are interested in sharpening up your games based approach and practice design
John Murphy@fhsperformance
New YouTube looking at some of the most common mistakes coaches make when utilising a games-based approach to training. We can get an awful lot from games, but sometimes we get in our own, or the players, way. Some of the big ones to avoid are explored youtu.be/YRm18jiSfIU?si…

@Mr_davisj The exact reason why injures continue to rise in the field. Most coaches can’t move nor have they ever. Might as well just play computer games!

There’s some gem presentations by Val Nasedkin on YouTube! Stuff you can gain a ton of info from. Can’t recommend it enough

@mboyle1959 Just some will do! If you’re maintaining strength residuals week 30…well you aren’t ha ha
English

@SPORTLAND_TNF So a little less strength work, a little more ( or any) speed work?
English

So if @mboyle1959 has been taking flack for over 15 years about general training on 1 leg or 2 legs. What hope do I have to get team sport programs to do a little less of that and prioritise training efforts to build speed on the field. So we can practice better?

@mboyle1959 @StrCoachNetwork @Huntereis_sc @coachmikesully1 @MollyBinetti Oh wow….long time! What a clip!

@SPORTLAND_TNF @StrCoachNetwork @Huntereis_sc @coachmikesully1 @MollyBinetti Probably since I publicly stated that I didn’t think the squat was a leg exercise in 2009
The dreaded Death of Squatting clip. PS- I didn’t name it that.

Single leg squat vs double leg squat is a false dichotomy. Anyone who tells you to only do one is wrong.Yes, Coach Boyle that does include you.
With all due respect, back squats should not be made to be a villain. I am glad you made people realize the importance of single leg squatting - but it did not need to come at the cost of the back squat. I still love you coach.

@mboyle1959 @StrCoachNetwork @Huntereis_sc @coachmikesully1 @MollyBinetti Coach, how long have you been hit with this argument?
English

@StrCoachNetwork Like I always say, everyone is entitled to an opinion. Yours won’t change mine. 😉It’s funny, I listened to two podcasts recently with four good young coaches.
@Huntereis_sc @coachmikesully1 @MollyBinetti Cam Ringstad.
All four were not high on the back squat. Coincidence? ❤️
