The news is out! I’m joining @CLTCBerkeley to lead their new Public Interest Cybersecurity initiative. I get to work full-time helping vulnerable and critical orgs develop mature, sustainable cyber programs, and researching long-term solutions to these gaps. It is a dream.
Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity@CLTCBerkeley

As our first-ever Program Director of Public Interest Cybersecurity, @SPowazek will lead CLTC’s flagship work in this arena, including continuing to grow the Citizen Clinic @UCBerkeley's @BerkeleyISchool and the newly launched Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics. Welcome Sarah!

I would recommend anyone reading this to consider spending a year crafting policy via @congressfellows. The future of our country depends on it. Please reach out if you're interested in talking about the fellowship. Applications are open now! techcongress.io/apply-now

The cyber challenges we face will take a whole nation to solve. Proposed legislation (bit.ly/3gNrHNL) would establish grant funding for Cybersecurity Clinics in community colleges, HBCUs, and other MSIs.

.@CISAJen made a bit of news during her #mWISE talk this morning, revealing that CISA's focus over the next year will be on three critical infrastructure sectors full of "target-rich, resource-poor" organizations: water, hospitals, and K-12 schools.

Harassment of election researchers is unconscionable, and a threat to our national security.

Enjoyed a robust roundtable with @MayorofLA on the importance of cyber coordination between the federal, state, and local levels. Building partnerships before an incident occurs ensures that our adversaries have to beat all of us to beat one of us.
