Explaining the deletions to those asking. Imagine a seat where Candidate X wins by 5,000 votes. But before the election, 25,000 voters from Candidate X’s constituency are DELETED from the voter list. That means the number of deleted voters is FIVE TIMES larger than the victory margin. Of course, we can’t say HOW those 25,000 deleted people would have voted, elections are secret ballots. But if even a FRACTION of those deleted voters had voted for the losing candidate, the result would have CHANGED. Eg. for candidate X, if just 6,000 of DELETED voters voted for the losing side, the winner could have LOST the seat. When deletions are much larger than the winning margin, it means the election has been DETERMINED by the number of deletions.

On 05.05.2026, acting on credible source information, a team of ARS, DD, Kolkata Police apprehended one accused, Md. Erfat (33), S/o Late Md. Samad, resident of Topsia Road South, under Topsia PS. He was intercepted near PC Connector, Topsia Road South at around 22:35 hrs. During the search, one country-made single-shot firearm along with four live cartridges was recovered from his possession. A case under sections 25(1)(a)/29 of the Arms Act has been registered at Topsia Police Station. Further legal action is underway.

Bengal Vandalism : On the night of May 5, in Jiaganj area of Murshidabad district, BJP goons attacked and broke a statue of Lenin. Our comrades immediately responded and filed a police complaint. A demonstration was held, following which five were arrested. This morning, our comrades went to the site again. The statue will be rebuilt on May 8th. Comrade Lenin, Long Live!
