Both things can be true: Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are elite, and they’re elite in very different ways. Lamar thrives on efficiency, timing, and making defenders miss in tight spaces. Josh plays a more physical, high-leverage brand of football — he’s asked to create, absorb contact, and finish plays. Different styles, different asks, which makes direct comparison imperfect. Availability matters, and this is where the gap starts. Since becoming a starter in 2018, Josh Allen has missed zero games due to injury. Lamar Jackson has missed double-digit games over that same span. Being great is one thing — being available every week, every season, especially in January, is another part of value. If we compare production anyway, the difference is clear. Through the 2024 season, Josh Allen has over 32,000 total yards and 300+ total touchdowns, while Lamar sits around 21,000 total yards and ~230 total touchdowns. Allen produces more passing yards, more total TDs, and more postseason scoring — often while carrying a heavier offensive load. Lamar beats you by making defenders miss in a phone booth. Josh Allen beats you by running through them — and then throwing over the top on the next play. Respect to Lamar, he’s special. But when durability, volume, playoff impact, and physical burden are part of the equation, Josh Allen’s overall impact is simply greater. #BillsMafia #RavensFlock
