Today STOPAIDS and the APPG on HIV, AIDS & Sexual Health co-hosted "Beyond the Breakthrough: Accelerating Access to Lenacapavir for an AIDS-Free Future" to discuss access challenges, and the concrete actions the UK can take to accelerate equitable, cost-effective access to LEN.

Yesterday in the British Parliament, Danielle Ferris spoke for Unitaid at “Making Science Deliver for Women’s Health” with a clear message: science is not enough if women are still left waiting for the care they need. Survival should never depend on postcode, distance or chance.

@apha_sa Mike Podmore, STOPAIDS CEO, spoke of our Ending AIDS Campaign, the opportunity around this as a positive story and how UK can use its influence to help expand access to LEN (and other prevention tools).

Yvette Raphael, ED of @apha_sa, gave a powerful presentation, saying "delay is not an accident it's a decision." She said women who participated in LEN clinical trials are now excluded access. She stressed that women must be central to decision making not just a pilot group.

In January the UK will confirm its commitment to these three organisations. We must protect what's left of UK funding to end the AIDS pandemic.

The @GlobalFund is the main mechanism for getting funding and services to the right place and the UK has recently pledged significant funding. But there are 3 other small but mighty institutions that are key to the global HIV response - @RCF, @UNAIDS and @UNITAID.
