@FakePsyho It got popular because it's a standardized way of doing technical questions. If you're competent enough to remember Leetcode hards or the knowledge than the work as a SWE will be easy peasy. It's just a secret handshake

I'll never understand why leetcode got so popular. It's like competitive programming without the fun part. All of these are your standard textbook problems. Either you have the relevant knowledge and it's trivial or you can't do much. No problem solving required.

most founders treat marketing like a thing u do after the product is built but the founders winning rn are the ones who figured out where their customers hang out before they wrote a single line of code

@magdajtaylor Methinks that people are all desperately trying to feel high value whilst not realizing that to be high value is extremely difficult. Even if you're blessed with height you need an inordinate amount of looksmaxxing both as a man and woman to be treated like that

@Andr3jH It's so sad to see the last gasps of Italian motorsporting. Though it's strange that there's no Chinese Hypercar competitors

@usr_bin_roygbiv It's actually insane how many people don't even bother with basic branching. The neuroticism in me forces micro-commits though I'm guilty of not rebasing if it's a solo project

The people I see failing to use agents properly are largely due to not understanding version control or failing to be able to view themselves in the third person in the broader context of a org. Which are issues far deeper than they realize and not specific to programming.

@shkeen_ @catboosted Everyone and their mother is throwing the word Agentic out there to get funding. He has no experience in fintech, no cofounders who could do technical work or manage compliance. Even a complete moron would stay far the away

Of course he’s nontechnical There’s grifting, and then there’s desperation. This clown would rather LARP as homeless than learn to code and build something real This is just sad and embarrassing

Update: I’m camping outside YC with my laptop, Meta glasses, and Jarvis/OpenClaw helping me pull every lever. Not because I’m entitled to a reply. Because this is what I believe founders do: move until the last possible second. One final look... @ycombinator @garrytan

First horizontal video is live. 90 seconds long. 10 hours to make. For comparison: 150 vertical videos behind me — same length, 60 minutes each. Here's why I'm switching things up: I decided @heyedicek won't be a faceless brand. As the founder, I want to lend it my face. Show up, be the person behind it. People don't trust logos. They trust people they recognize. Next step: put the whole build on YouTube. Behind the scenes, build in public. Decisions, mistakes, wins. Long form, slower, honest. Different from anything I've done on TikTok. Not there yet. But that's where this is going.

you have an omnipotent all knowing chatbot that can summon all information ever created by humans instantaneously in your pocket and you are worried about maintaining a 200 year old system hijacked by boomers to be a taxpayer funded adult daycare.

@usr_bin_roygbiv That's fascinating. Why is college a waste of time? Why do you think white men are discriminated from college admissions/financial assistance/grad positions, but not from jobs?

@47fucb4r8c69323 @Jack_Raines I remember going through /biz/ threads of a lot of guys like that. A lot of them kinda just fell into video game addiction etc. Personally I like my work, I like working I don't care about the money but I deeply want to be validated that I'm not some loser dork

That last line matters the most. So many people dream about money as a key to freedom, but it's better to say money solves some problems. And different amounts also bring with them new problems. As a wise man once said, mo money mo problems. So if you go into financial independence thinking "finally I'm free, I can do whatever you want!" you very likely are going to have a nervous breakdown when you suddenly realize the money you have doesn't actually solve the deepest constraints in your life. I wasn't busting my ass to make a lot of money, I was busting my ass to prove to myself I'm not the white trash kid I grew up as. But being FIRE in your 30s doesn't fix that, it just shows you that you haven't proven that and getting money doesn't fix what is really wrong with you. And there is NO WAY for me to communicate this to someone who isn't FIRE without sounding like an ungrateful patronizing asshole. That is the worst part.

@matthew28111015 @AdamRackis It really doesn't matter, your skill set should be more sub agent architecture than remembering big O notation or centering divs. It's a different world now
