Super interesting! We have observed changes in (hyper)vascularization many times during aging but never really followed it up. So cool to see these findings + amazing imaging: Reversible hypervascularization drives cognitive decline and blood-brain barrier damage during aging. Great work by @erturklab. Congrats! biorxiv.org/content/10.648…

Maybe there should be a different category: FDA-allowed, which then should go on to seek actual approval.

They include a database where you can check on drugs approved during that time and how they rank based on whether drug trials were blinded, controlled, replicated, and clinically helpful. Lemborexant (Dayvigo) met all 4 criteria for insomnia. airtable.com/appo0jvZ8ONLJX…

Ashish Sharma, PhD, a BrightFocus Alzheimer's Disease Research grant recipient, is uncovering the connection between circadian rhythm disruptions and the accumulation of amyloid plaques and tau protein in the brain—two key Alzheimer's biomarkers. This research is deeply personal for Dr. Sharma, who watched a family member "slowly fade—first losing memories, then words, until even their ability to communicate was gone." 45% of Alzheimer's patients reporting sleep problems. Dr. Sharma's research could chart a path for earlier detection and new treatment approaches. Learn more: bit.ly/43Dz93P #Alzheimers #BrightFocusFoundation #CureInMind
