@vanliberals Should look into the Sanitation department. They get paid until 330pm but get to go home at 155pm. And finish their work around noon daily. Then they go hide and sit making $36+

City services should work. Right now, too many don’t. We’re investing in the people who actually keep Vancouver running. Cleaner streets. Stronger communities. Better services.

@donnasargent @TheRichmondNews There is no misunderstanding that the current trustees have lost the plot and are making it really easy to vote all of you out. Not long until October. You are setting kids up for failure before they even hit high school, give your head a shake.

@TheRichmondNews There is a lot of misinformation/misunderstanding regarding this topic. It’s important to relay the ‘why’. Education always needs to keep getting better to meet the needs of students. Please parents talk to your teachers/principals to get a clear understanding.

@amboultbee Interesting all the issues you mentioned, you were ok with when you were running with them and got elected and then betrayed your constituents. That shows just how “unserious” you are.

As sent to my constituents: Hi everyone, I’d like to let everyone know that yesterday the BC Conservative leadership team and board canceled my membership. Their position is that I violated the bylaw they cited for “publicly supporting another political party” when I voted to take a bill on FOI to committee. The BC Conservative leadership and board who are making these decisions are deeply unserious. Cancelling moderate conservatives memberships during the leadership race on a technicality while Yuri Fulmer forms an entire coalition with a far right party, OneBC, is a clear choice. I’ll take them seriously when they can run a clean leadership campaign, have a leader, can identify themselves ideologically and vet candidates. In the meantime I remain focussed on serving my constituents in Penticton Summerland. The economy, private property rights, lack of healthcare and public safety are provincial emergencies and my focus will remain there. Much love to my constituents. #bcpoli

🚨BREAKING🚨 Elenore Sturko and Amelia Boultbee have officially been called up to the BC NDP FARM TEAM. At this point, David Eby doesn’t even need to recruit candidates anymore. He just waits for weak independent politicians to audition themselves.

This morning I called into The Mike Smith Show on CKNW to speak out against expanding safe consumption sites without first fixing the lack of detox and treatment options in BC. Safe consumption alone is not recovery. Families are being told to wait weeks or months for treatment while addiction continues to destroy lives and impact communities across the province. We need a recovery-first approach: • Immediate access to detox • More treatment beds • Long-term recovery programs • Mental health supports • Real pathways out of addiction We also need to seriously look at reopening services at Riverview Hospital. BC used to have facilities focused on long-term mental health and addiction care, and right now those supports are missing. At the end of the day, this is about helping people recover so they can go home to their families and rebuild their lives.

How is Lions Manner is Steveston coming along, remember that you promised it last election? Instead you support locking up our seniors on the corner of Bridgeport and Great Canadian Way. Shameful the way you and the @bcndp treat seniors. #bcpoli

No ribbons. No medals. No recognition. The Richmond School District has removed awards from elementary track meets, replacing them with “competitive” and “non-competitive” categories… but nothing to recognize achievement. This isn’t about inclusion anymore, it’s about lowering the bar. Kids deserve to be encouraged, challenged, and recognized for their effort. A ribbon or medal isn’t everything, but it means something. It builds confidence, creates pride, and shows that hard work pays off. You can support participation and celebrate success at the same time. Removing recognition sends the wrong message. Our kids deserve better. 👉 Full article: substack.com/home/post/p-19… What do you think? 👇 #RichmondBC #RichmondSchools #YouthSports #ParentVoices #CommunityMatters #KeepCompetition #CelebrateEffort #DoBetter @RichmondSD38 @donnasargent @DebbieTablotney @KenHamaguchi @AliceWongCanada @REP_Rmd @HeatherLarson38

There is some confusion over this story so let me clear things up. Immediately prior to the last provincial election campaign, BC United (BCU) agreed to get out of the race and the B.C. Conservatives found space for many of their more prominent candidates. With a very close race expected (and ultimately delivered) the two parties decided that a single party was the best way to beating the NDP. After many weeks of back and fourth an agreement was reached and while BCU couldn't legally fold, it was understood that they would not run candidates or contest the election. Those remaining at the BCU - staff and executive officers - were assumed to be focused on minimum maintenance of party operations and not partisan campaigning. Now we learn that the campaign manager at the time of the agreement secretly engaged an Alberta company led by the now leader of the Alberta Republican Party to run a fake and illegal campaign against John Rustad on the eve of the election. This was not the latter Rustad facing caucus challenges. This was the very popular John Rustad who built the party from the ground up and came within 1000 votes of winning government. The ultimate impact of this deceptive and illegal campaign can never be accurately measured but it wouldn't take a lot of people staying home to have flip close seats to the NDP. Surrey Guildford, Fleetwood, Centre, Maple Ridge East, Richmond-Steveston, Malahat, Langara could all have been lost because of the action of BCU staff. There was no advantage to doing this other than petty vindictiveness. That is why it's not hyperbole to say that the BCU may have won the election for the NDP.

This is hilarious. Team BC United is in full force. Jackie Lee former BC United candidate standing side by side with Peter. Shows you how bad his campaign team is when they don’t even do a simple google search to see that Jackie split the vote and handed BC NDP the riding.
Peter Milobar@PeterMilobar

Richmond’s priorities are clear: end the NDP’s radical policies. No more normalization of drug use. Schools should focus on learning. Private property rights must be respected. If you agree, whether in Richmond or anywhere in B.C., become a member and vote. PeterMilobar.ca/membership #bcpoli #readytoleadbc

Meanwhile in her riding Richmond - Steveston, her election promise (again) of Lions Manner still doesn’t have shovels in the ground. #bcpoli

Great stop into Fairmont with @RDEastKootenay partners to see recently completed infrastructure we built to reduce debris flow & flood risks in the community. The project’s debris-flow barrier is designed to contain a 300-to-1000-year return period event to keep people safer. 👍

Proud to be in @CityofFernie to see the critical infrastructure we’ve built in partnership to better protect people and the community from flooding. More than 500 metres of the Mountview dike along the Elk River was raised and upgrades were made to the Coal Creek retaining wall.
