The best available evidence that I am familiar with says that in pure electoral terms the most potent things for Democrats to moderate on are affirmative action, teacher pay, gender/kids stuff, fossil fuels, and harsher punishment for property crime. nytimes.com/2026/03/16/opi…

For perhaps the first time, I may be in disagreement with @andrewdoyle. Same as with language, this is a freedom of expression issue. We're free to laugh at this lecturer's attire or say it's ugly or offensive, but we shouldn't censor it if it doesn't endanger anyone.





This ruling has effectively hung Kathleen Stock out to dry and given the green light to trans activists to hound those they disagree with off campus. Far too many academics have been driven from their jobs, abandoned by colleagues, and subjected to vile abuse for holding and expressing lawful views. This judgment effectively renders the Higher Education (Freedom of Speech) Act (Hefsa) toothless. Universities must do more than pay lip service to the free speech duties set out in the Act. The Free Speech Union sincerely hopes that the Office for Students appeals. If it does, we hope to intervene. Read more below 👇
