Disclosing a patient’s transgender status without their consent, even for medical purposes, is unlawful (Gender Recognition Act 2004). It’s difficult to navigate.

@StAnnsRainhill Lucy made a candle clock. She worked out how far it would burn in 30 minutes and marked it on the candle. She then added pins that would drop every 30 minutes and make an alarm clock ⏰

@abigiles21 @IBMScience Well done Abi. I’m trying my best to raise awareness in my Trust of how we are failing to treat trans patients equally and safely. I’ve unearthed quite a bit and the Trust have created a transgender best practice group to work through the issues. It’s progress!

@SPhinbow I’m not a massive fan. We had it for about 10 years. Lots of false positives, especially in pregnancy and the analyser was broke a lot, needs tlc
