🥤 A Warm Welcome to Kahumbo in Purley
Cllr Samir Dwesar and I were delighted to visit the opening of Kahumbo, a fantastic new store on Purley High Street.
Kahumbo, which means rejoicing, brings something fresh and vibrant to the area, offering fruit drinks, fresh shots, mocktails, and milkshakes. A real boost for Purley’s high street.
It is great to see new businesses choosing to invest locally and add to the character of our town centres. This is how we restore pride in Croydon.

Five months ago Mandelson was UK Ambassador with the full confidence of the PM. Today he is no longer the ambassador, in Labour or a peer.
The scandal, sleaze, and speed of his downfall only increases the scrutiny on Starmer and McSweeney’s decision to send him to Washington.

We’re now told this email - criticising ULEZ’s impact on elderly residents - was actually intended for Sadiq Khan.
So a Labour MP complaining to the architect of the policy about the damage it’s doing?
If that’s true, that’s a significant rebellion.

I’m frankly astonished. A Croydon Labour MP has asked me to justify why the Labour Mayor of London’s ULEZ expansion is making life harder for her residents. This is a policy imposed by Labour, backed by Croydon Labour councillors, and still supported by Labour’s local mayoral candidate. I warned this would punish elderly residents, carers and people on fixed incomes - and now Labour pretend to be surprised. It defies belief. I’ll keep fighting to scrap this unfair, ineffective ULEZ expansion.
