@dividendology This doesn’t work as a thought experiment, does everyone start unemployed? Who hires them than, it’s a silly and loaded question aimed at institutional driding

If anyone gives the Spurs something valuable for De’Aaron Fox they’re undeniably moronic.

@Ravers I think Debate/ayo ant/shannon Jmac/herb Naz/herb Rudy/joan/rocco That’s the best offseason outcome. Old superstars that strip the roster are not the answer. Ddv/randle/clark and a first to the pels is lowkey smart

@DietBeginsMon The lowkey smartest trade is Randle, ddv, Philips/clark and picks for herb jones and Murray. Murray/Ayo ant/tsj Jmac/herb Naz/herb Gobert/joan/rocco That’s a killer rotation and allows for future flexibility. That is how you fleece the pelicans

@JonKrawczynski One way to put this into perspective to compare the average success young wolves players compared to every other franchise and how they develop. I think if you were to look at it in depth, they wouldn’t be doing much worse.

Just wrong. He DOES develop young players (Ant, Jaden, Naz, NAW all ELITE development stories. TSJ and Bones both got better. Will see on Clark/Beringer/Rocco). He DOES impose himself on the team. Stories of his fiery film sessions are legion. He has flaws. But let's be honest.
🪖LazialeDisciplinato🪖@LazialeDisci

@JonKrawczynski We won't get anywhere as long as he's our HC... He's a good coach but has obvious managerial limitations, he doesn't develop young players (only when forced to) and he doesn't impose himself on the team. Bad news.

Joe Johnson mentions there’s not many white NBA players who are good defenders when discussing Austin Reaves 👀 “I gotta question. How many white defenders have we seen in the NBA… it takes a different type of brotha. I’m just keeping it real… Defense is a want to fellas. You gotta want to sit in that chair” (Via @NightcapShow_)

@xwonde6 @ShamsCharania Talent dilution will come from the best teams, as the worst teams will be able to protect all of there best players, it will lead to more parity

@ShamsCharania NBA expanding to 32 teams for a greedy $7-10B money grab while a third of the league already tanks every night? Talent dilution incoming—get ready for more 20-win "superstars" and watered-down playoffs. Classic Adam Silver cash grab 😂

This starts the NBA's 32-team expansion process. Multiple high-ranking officials have termed expansion as "when, not if." Now the NBA will examine Seattle and Las Vegas bids over the next several months, and whether to execute the new franchise purchases now or in a few years.
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

Breaking: The NBA's Board of Governors has approved a vote for the league to explore bids and applicants for expansion teams exclusively in Las Vegas and Seattle, sources tell ESPN. A bidding process is expected to generate offers in the $7-10 billion range for each team.

Random question at this time of the season: What kind of archetype — a realistic one given they’ll have the 30th pick — should the Wolves be targeting in the draft?

Top 5 NBA trios under the age of 25: 1. Spurs V. Wembanyama S. Castle D. Harper 2. Pistons C. Cunningham J. Duren Au. Thompson 3. Hornets L. Ball K. Knueppel B. Miller 4. Thunder Jal. Williams C. Holmgren C. Wallace/J. McCain/A. Mitchell 5. Rockets A. Sengun Am. Thompson J. Smith Jr./R. Sheppard

The Spurs have the best young core trio in the NBA. Dylan Harper (20) Stephon Castle (21) Victor Wembanyama (22) San Antonio is built for long-term success.

@AndrewDBailey How do you feel about players coaches, media and office staff voting for the worst team excluding there own. There will definitely be bias involved but it allows voters to account for tanking strategy and “injuries”

I (kinda) take it back. I think the previous lottery odds were better than the current ones. Ordering worst to first (like the NFL) without a lottery might help. I think ending pick protections in trades might help. But the more dramatic changes all sound ludicrous to me.
Andy Bailey@AndrewDBailey

Every idea I’ve heard or read to “fix” tanking is worse than the current system. Tanking will always happen. Some years have better incoming draft classes than others. That incentivizes more tanking. And I continue to believe there are bigger issues on the watchability front.

@collinsworth55 I say just base it on players, coaches, media, and office members voting for the worst team so they can account for injuries, tanking strategy and strength of schedule.

A good place to start with the NBA tanking situation is to not rig the lottery and give the Mavericks the #1 pick!! The root of the problem is the lottery is rigged! Make it fair and it will work its way out overtime

@joelvmoran Best solution is wins become losses for final 25 games, so all teams are encouraged to get better

The NBA’s solution to tanking is simple. Stop rigging the lottery. It’s not a coincidence that: - Spurs got Wemby - Mavericks got Flagg - Pelicans got Zion after trading AD The worst team getting the best picks is the way to go but the NBA wants to dictate what players go where.

@KeithSmithNBA This might be a bad solution, but what if the draft lottery is determined by media, player, coach and front office voting, the only stipulation being you can’t vote for your own team?

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver on tanking: "It's so clear that the incentives are misaligned." Silver said the believes tanking is worse than we've seen before and said that's what led to the recent fines as an effort to put all teams on notice. Silver emphasized again the league is focused on fixes.

@brooklynnets85 The solution is that wins count as losses post trade deadline for lottery teams so if you go 20 and 12 post deadline it ostensibly counts as 12 and 20 on your record. Given that team have different amounts of games played it would have to be like the final 30 games apps

@esidery @BobbyMarks42 This achieves multiple goals. Every team will look to improve and win at the trade deadline. Teams will be encouraged to develop youth earlier in the season, and generally it should create more parity.

@esidery @BobbyMarks42 The fix for tanking is wins become losses for lottery teams post deadline. Basically once the playoff teams are decided, if lottery team A was at 12 wins and 40 losses pre deadline and 20 wins and 10 losses post deadline, their lottery adjusted record is set at 60 losses not 50

A lot of teams are now complaining behind the scenes about tanking, which will lead to a significant system overhaul soon, per @BobbyMarks42. Multiple franchises are preparing proposals for this offseason to fix the issue once and for all.
