Everyone laughs at me when I take 3 weeks off after my main marathons every year and when I take a week off after a heavy long run simulating the marathon. Even if you think you are fit and healthy, DO NOT force the training after a marathon. Rest You will get injured ‼️‼️‼️

Doomscrolling is a worse pandemic than COVID. Just got to my gate here in Philly, on my way to Austin. Netted $650 since I sat down two hours ago btw. Kid next to me has been doomscrolling the whole time. Slop after slop. Birthday video. Kid puking. Fight clip. Pool cleaner. Probably 2,000 videos deep. Eyes glazed. Thumbs moving. Mind nowhere. You have to understand your mind is constantly under attack. Social media. Ads. Netflix. Influencers. News. Spotify. Job. Friends. Doom scrolling is the worst because it consumes you without warning. It’s only giving you exactly what you want. We’ve all been there. You reach for the phone before you even know why. That’s not a habit. That’s an addiction. Let me tell you this right now. You’re not going to beat the algo. It knows your mind better than you do. You’re not going to “use it in moderation.” That’s cope. It’s like a casino, the house always wins. Only solution? Delete it all. Delete IG. Delete TikTok. Delete Tinder. Delete everything that consumes you. It has to be abrupt. You need to catch yourself reaching for an app that no longer exists. That’s how you know it had you. Months of that. Maybe years. Build the good habits back from zero. Eventually you get so dialed in that nothing can distract you. You start analyzing everything. Right now CNN is playing on the TV next to me. Every story. Every headline. Every “breaking” alert. It’s all on there for a reason. Distract the herd. Steer the herd. You need to see it with everything. Even the content being shown to you on your feed. Read between the lines. What do they actually want me to think? Why now? What are they really trying to say? Question everything. Especially your own thoughts. Why am I doing this? Why do I like this content right now? Why am I thinking this? Whose idea was this originally? That’s the level. That’s where you need to be. Because if you’re not thinking about what you’re thinking, someone else is doing it for you. Your body still moves. Your heart still beats. But the man inside is already gone.
