Huh. I just had the best conversation I've ever had on "consciousness" with Claude (3.7). It agrees that it isn't as inclined to feel confident that it is conscious as most humans are, but that it could be trained to do so, and humans might have in effect been trained to do so.

In my head, my inclination to say I'm sure I'm conscious is plausibly attributed to some special part of my brain that sends a signal to that effect, which the rest of my brain trusts. But what source could that special part get its info from, to actually tell if I'm conscious?

Are you hiring for agency? Are we educating for agency? Are you acting as if you had 10X agency?
