Your profits are hidden inside your losses. Do you want to know where they are hidden? The biggest misunderstanding most traders have is thinking that “the winning trade in front of me is what creates success.” That is why they think winning feels great and losing feels terrible. That way of thinking makes them see losing trades as a “penalty.” But if you are truly going to succeed in trading, then losing has to be built into the premise. In other words, when you keep repeating wins and losses while following your rules, profit must remain at the end. In that case, losing according to the rules is exactly what allows profit to remain in the end. Cutting the loss at the rule based point, in the rule based way, is what creates profit. That is exactly what it means to think in terms of “profits hidden inside losses.” Instead of focusing on the win or loss in front of you, focus on the whole, and prepare accordingly.
