@DrucillaTemple1 If you're not teaching a lesson specifically to do with indigenous content using 8 ways can be a great tool for incorporating Indigenous perspectives in a regular and non-tokenistic way. 'Yarn-circle' area's for respectful and insightful student conversations are becoming popular

@SaphiahLindebo2 Love this! My school project addressing #SDG12 involves a community garden that features bush tucker and traditional cultivation practices of the traditional custodians of our land. I didn't think to incorporate the 8 ways, what a great way to further enrich student learning!

@MissZRay This resource is such a non-invasive way of students demonstrating their level on understanding. You could even make the chart colour coded with little laminated flip books students keep at their desks to be more subtle about it. Thank you for the share!

I'm using Bloom's Taxonomy throughout my unit as it allows me to create appropriate learning activities that link to students learning levels. Having instructions set at an appropriate level is so important, otherwise students will not retain what's being taught. #educ4750 #SDG12

@Lauren02484342 I think as we progress as a society, we will be seeing a lot of reusing a recycling as we phase in the new eco-friendly materials and head towards a future of zero waste. e.g. there are already conversion kits to make old cars into electric cars to minimise waste.

@ZebJohnston I had not heard of them but now that I have I am interested. I think that a holistic approach is needed when exploring #SDG12 and students should be exposed to thinking about how all aspects of their lives and consumption has an impact.

@Lauren02484342 I think using current popular media in classroom lessons can help further engage the students and even their parents and caregivers. When the students can relate their learning to something their parents may be interested in it can help start conversations and learning at home!

@MissZRay To continue the discussion and conclude the lesson you could get students to analyse the habits they have that have the biggest impact and come up with their own solutions to help lower their score. Then they could live like that for a week and see if their impact has changed!

@Lauren02484342 My question is, why did the local council decide to focus their resources on this? What were their motives? Other dangerous activities such as mowing the nature strip are conducted by locals and yet not an issue. Just some interesting points to talk about with the class.

@Lauren02484342 Unfortunately Aluminium is 25-30% more expensive than plastic. But with the inevitable plato of oil production (a key ingredient of plastic), we may be seeing more aluminium in the future!

Approx 75% of aluminium ever produced is still in use today as it can be recycled endlessly without compromising any of its unique properties or quality. Aluminium's lifecycle provides significant benefits through recycling, saving 95% of energy it would take making it brand new!

@SaphiahLindebo2 No way, that is incredible! More cities need to be based on a sustainable model such as his. What a fun activity getting students to design their own sustainable city. They can do this on mine craft for ICT SKILL development or sketch it and build creative art skills.
