@CancelThisPod I'm old enough to remember when we got good movie tie-in games over the shovelware we see now. Sadly it's all about chasing trends and has been for over a decade. The real saving grace of the industry has been indies.

They added journalist mode too with some accessories which isn't great. It could have been better. I don't think it's epic nor miserable. It's just mid and we need to get back to a world where some games are simply that. Not everything is a hit or a bomb. Some shit just exists. Thats why PS1 and 2 era was peak

I disagree. NieR and Octopath are great. The Eliott game demo looked great. The recent DQ remake where they didn't put gender bullshit in was excellent. They can still put out great games but everyone wants to cuck for Final Fantasy-whatever and therein lies the problem.

@CancelThisPod One of the crazies from XIV spoiled the ending for me so I'm not exactly motivated to finish it. Got bored just after the Bahamut section, the gear being nothing but boring stat sticks wasn't doing it any favours.

@Saphtwit XVIs story seems solid but yeah its a great DMC but a terrible Final Fantasy. It should have been a spinoff game rather than a mainline title and there would be less harsh criticism. Yoshi P is an MMO guy. Keep him there. He hates turn based

@Saphtwit It's also a brand the new CEO said was the future of the company along with Octopath. The problem is too many people push Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy died when the OG team left. Anything past X is a skin suit.

I honestly don't see anything that was said to warrant his banned, but it's Square-Enix call. Xenosys has always talked like this for years and nothing happened, so what has changed? Certainly someone found a loop hole to target his banned. To be real FFXIV community is very very very toxic and yes their is pettiness and fake smiles and fake positivity has really hurt the game and the community in general and I'm aware how this kind of behavior can also pull people away from the game. This is why many have stayed in FF11 because how toxic and fake people can be in the FF14 community. Majority of the harrasements and stalking comes from this game itself there is no denying it. Petty people even created a mod to find who's retainers belong to which character to harass them for undercutting. It's pathetic. Also it's terrible that we can't even express ourselves about crazy people who work at Square-Enix, because of big sissies who can't handle the steel of other people's vocabulary. I'm very discouraged to even continue with FF14. I'm good with FF11 as long they do not damage the game as they did with DawnTrail. Square-Enix really needs to get it together or kick rocks because by the end of the day people can and will move on to another gaming company who listen to player base feedback without attacking gamers. Like pearl abyss, why can't SE takes notes how well they are doing?

@JaceTheGeek @pcgamer Not to mention materials take more effort to come by. Many being mob drops or tied to content. In XIV you just smack a tree/rock a few dozen times and that's enough food/pots for 8 months.

@JaceTheGeek @pcgamer Not really. The only effort comes from long grind achievements or gearing at the start of a new patch and most of the latter is solved with gil. Not to mention the crafting interface is very easy to follow. XI has you memorize the recipes and success is largely RNG.

@LapisArsene AF gear comes from specific dungeon chests. You can also upgrade it all the way to ilvl 119, the current cap. So it's useful lategame. If you want a decent set, hitting the level cap lets you complete a Records of Eminence mission that gives 117 gear. Not too bad with Trusts.

Making my way to San d'Oria. I really like this forest zone. Also, I was able to get new gear. But, when do I get actual job gear? Level 50?
