correct correct correct!!! African American athletes should be given the same supports and effort for their academic achievements

" a widely cited reason for Historically Black Colleges/Universities underperformance based on NCAA academic standards is the lack of financial resources associated with these institutions" (Cooper et al, 2014)
It's outrageous to witness the NCAA's relentless efforts to avoid fairly compensating student athletes, especially after high profile lawsuits. They persist in doing the bare minimum under the guise of maintaining amateurism. #UCR150@abhornUCRedu

@annaacha#ucr150 I regards to college athlete lawsuits the NCAA should hear a fair and public hearing, before an arbitrator or tibunal that is neutral and independent.
Controlling student athletes seems to always be the main focus of the NCAA, placing limitations on their ability to make decisions freely. This applies when athletes want to transfer to a different school; the 4-4 transfer rules make it undesirable to do so. #UCR150@annaaacha
@annaaacha#ucr150 College coaches are payed millions of dollars and are allowed to transfer schools but student athletes that work for "scholarships" aren't? seems weird to me
#ucr150@annaaacha Not only is there not enough research for the dangers of concussions in athletes but how many of these concussions are going unreported?
If Title IX is suppose to help build equality and and stop discrimination in education programs and activities why do women only received 32% of athletic recruiting dollars when they take up over 50% of the D1 student body? #ucr150@annaaacha
An explanation of how collegiate athletes' voices may question the current quo both inside and outside of the NCAA is provided by the radical flank effect.#ucr150@abhornUCRedu
I kinda find it ridiculous that in college don't pay their athletes. Since their scholarships are limited unlike other students who get scholarships who use their talents to earn exrta money. #ucr150@abhornUCRedu
@EddieComeaux@UCLALawReview@DrUJayakumar Intresting that according to the UCLA law article, close to zero are American Indian and Pacific Islander athletes in college but American Indian and Pacific Islander makes up close to 14% of the U.S. 2022 census. More research needs to be done on this topic!!
Sharing a @UCLALawReview article co-auth with @DrUJayakumar Bill Kidder & Sherod Thaxton on race, athletics, and admissions. We show that supposedly race-neutral admissions policies create advantages for white applicants.... let us know your thoughts.
