Great to see so many pathologists working in sarcoma from across the UK in one room, sharing best practice and talking through challenges that whole genome sequencing of sarcoma brings. Proud to fund these workshops so we can all learn and improve patient care @RNOHnhs @uclcancer

We’ve seen drugs come off & some go on back on the CDF. Olaratumab was funded for Phase 3 trial, but didn’t answer the question set. But there are no new drugs available for sarcoma patients. We must do global research & adaptive, joined up trials to find treatments.

Over the past 5 years, there have been few positive Policy shifts for sarcoma. Due to poor data collection, sarcoma staging may not be counted in the NHS Long Term Plan for staging targets This year, finally, @NHSEngland approved a new service specification for sarcoma services

We provide patient focused information and just last year sent out 6,000+ booklets, and over 14,000 (!!) downloads from the website. Each piece has expert clinical review for accuracy & patient review to make sure it’s easy to understand. sarcoma.org.uk/support-inform…

After 5 brilliant years at @Sarcoma_UK I’m in my last week & time to think about progress. I joined to put some energy into the Research programme. Thanks to our fantastic supporters, this has grown from £250K in 2014, to £870K this year and aiming for £1 million next year.

Launching the Genomics Research Programme united 36 brilliant researchers for a common goal. Having independent experts on our research advisory committee means we only fund high quality sarcoma research. We always get more applications than we can fund. youtu.be/ag1vYfE1oLw
