@lyssazim @emilyesfraser My son is in therapy for his ADHD. Breathing is one of his “tools”. It makes him 100000% more upset every time I suggest it!

@emilyesfraser I'm struggling so much reading this thread too, but don't want to mute it! I knew it was a common difference in processing, but didn't realize *how* common. Did NOT expect this much traction.

Friendly seasonal reminder for those in healing professions that breathing exercises are *incredibly* dysregulating for a lot of trauma survivors. If breathwork is your go-to teaching tool, you may want to get a few more outwardly focused tools in your arsenal.

@DrewskiBevard @1capplegate My husband’s is so bad he had to stop working a year ago. So I went to work instead. He helps by getting the kids to school, taking care of our chickens, and doing what he can around the house (some days more than others ).
