The craziest thing about this chart is that the price hike all goes back to when food producers realized they could use COVID to artificially inflate prices and people would just keep paying it because they have to eat and then nobody ever stopped them or held them accountable.

When I moved to Florida I realized there are millions of people who have been stewing in rage for years over the lockdowns. It really made me understand that the core animating force in US society is selfishness. The whole freedom thing is a thin veil for a sense of entitlement.

Sure the Saudis spent 2015-2022 + tens of billions getting humiliated by Ansarallah, and sure the US Navy got chased out of the Red Sea last year by them, but who's to say this time won't be different? Why, just look at how well Trump's Iran war is going. x.com/amberinzaman/s…

My latest SCOOP about a soon to be announced Saudi military scheme to counter the Houthis in the Red Sea. It is unlikely to succeed without US backing. w/ essential back up up from our brilliant national security correspondent @JM_Szuba | Saudi Arabia to announce Red Sea coalition to counter Houthi threats al-monitor.com/originals/2026…

Funny how you can track a thirteen year old child across state lines when she's needing an abortion, but not for the adult who raped her. Because god forgive we infringe on HIS rights.

This is happening all over the country. Tiny county boards and municipal politicians are being bought off by billion-dollar technology behemoths building the infrastructure for an unprecedented and invasive surveillance apparatus that equips the government with the ability to track, analyze, and store everything you do while, in milliseconds, identifying and killing people anywhere in the world. These data centers are consuming farmland, poisoning water, and driving up electricity prices in rural and suburban communities. And when someone lets out a single innocent clap in opposition to it, the local sheriff who's lived next door for 15 years is suddenly transformed into an Oracle- Meta cop for hire and drags them to jail.

A high school teacher in Kansas was arrested for clapping in opposition to a proposed data center during a city council meeting.

🧵🚨 NEW: Israel is spending millions of dollars to influence AI chatbots—and according to a new Drop Site investigation, it’s working. Former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale is overseeing a network of websites created for the Israeli government that are increasingly appearing in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and other AI systems.

Great context for why the national conversation was steered towards shoplifting / stealing food by big corporations as they raised their prices, said that the hikes were temporary, and then kept raising them. And then tried (some succeeded) to use dynamic pricing for food.

Homophobic, misogynist, money grubbing warmonger who spent his entire career in the Senate fighting against providing healthcare to Americans getting a sappy, mawkish goodbye tour on his deathbed because he said "Trump bad" a few times. Fuck this country. Fuck Ben Sasse.
CNN@CNN

Facing death from stage 4 pancreatic cancer, Former Sen. Ben Sasse shares with CNN's Jake Tapper his life's biggest regret: time he missed with his wife and three kids while traveling for his career. Watch the rest of his interview on CNN's "The Whole Story With Anderson Cooper: Ben Sasse is Going Home: Lessons on Life and Death," Sunday, July 26, at 8pm ET.
