In the months since our legal team sued Greg Abbott over his unconstitutional "terrorism" designation targeting our Texas chapters, the governor has tried to delay a judicial ruling on the merits of his proclamation and instead pursue a witch hunt. Most recently, Abbott wanted the names of every single American who has donated to our work over the past ten years. The court rejected his request and significantly limited his other demands, ruling instead that the governor can conduct only a limited review of foreign donations. What Governor Abbott did not realize is that--unlike certain corrupt politicians--we rely on the American people for support and answer to the American people. FIRST ON FOX: Shocking video shows a Texas father fatally shooting an illegal immigrant from Mexico as the migrant tried to carjack his vehicle with his family inside. Officials say suspect Jose Ramirez parked at a nearby gas station and was unsuccessfully attempting to "take several vehicles by force" in the parking lot. Ramirez was then seen running across the road to a convenience store parking lot where he attempts to forcefully take the father's car. While Ramirez was unarmed, authorities say he was "using force," and the father had no way of knowing whether he had a weapon.

A couple in Georgia were sentenced to 25 and 15 years in prison for threatening a Black family during a child's birthday party near Atlanta.They drove by with Confederate flags, shouted threats, and scared the children and adults at the celebration. The judge said their behavior was meant to spread fear and hate. Jose "Joe" Torres, who was 26 at the time, was sentenced to 20 years, with 13 years to be served in prison. He was found guilty of aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, and violating Georgia's Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. His actions were considered extremely dangerous and intentional. His girlfriend, Kayla Norton, who was 25, received 15 years, with six years in prison, for making threats and breaking the same gang law. Judge William McClain said their behavior was a hate crime because they targeted a Black family. The judge emphasized that such violence and intimidation have no place in the community.

Today, CODEPINK activists interrupted her speech and gave her a more fitting award instead: the Monroe Doctrine Award. For outstanding dedication to U.S. intervention, sanctions, regime change, and empire in Latin America. A politician who supported sanctions that devastated Venezuelan families, backed invasion threats, and supports Israel’s genocide in Gaza does not represent peace.
