Many more trees slated to be removed by @metrolinx along #OntarioLine and in the Don Valley at proposed train yard. Just like the #GreenBelt & #MZO it appears that developers are calling shots. City is removed from planning decisions at stations.

With major Ontario Line construction beginning soon and still so many unanswered questions about trees, traffic, business impacts & more I was glad to join with my colleagues @ausmalik and @ChrisMoiseTO to set up a Subcommittee on the OL. Look out for the first meeting in March.

@iamdavidmiller The design of the #OntarioLine has no regard for host communities or trees. It's like a runaway train with no conductor. Yes to transit that is well-designed. No to reckless destruction of communities.

There is no need for Metrolinx to do this. It cannot build the stations as proposed for a variety of serious technical and financial reasons. There is plenty of time to find a different path while solutions to the technical issues are found, or a different plan is adopted.

Metrolinx is preparing to remove the trees at Osgoode Hall this weekend. Fencing has been erected and security personnel are already deployed. Come to the vigil: Friday, Feb 3rd 5:30-6:30 PM at Osgoode Hall. Bring signs, candles, ribbons.@metromorning @todd_irvine @dylan_reid

Metrolinx changed their mind on the Yonge North Subway Ext. Turns out they can build as deep as 50metres in Thornhill, so why not in Riverside + Leslieville? This confirms: the Ontario Line in our ‘hood can + should, be built underground. #BuryTheLine #BuildTransitBetter
