Open letter calls on Scottish Government to justify its long-standing political and policy support for open-net salmon farming. Concerns about salmon farming are widespread. It’s high time the Scottish Government paid attention ✊ wildfish.org/latest-news/op…

Concluding today's session, @fincarson asked @MairiGougeon👇 Do you believe sufficient progress has been made since the 2018 report, which concluded that standards of regulation of the salmon farming sector in Scotland were ‘not acceptable’? Session👉ow.ly/FCGX50U6gEh

Environmental benefits? What a load of rubbish!! What are the benefits of #plastic #faeces #pollution and the damage to #biodiversity? #CorporateResponsibility Every man and woman who perpetuates these lies is responsible for ecocide. How can they sleep at night?

Currently, there are almost no restrictions on where or how many wrasse can be trapped. There are also weak limits on when wrasse can be trapped: they can even be caught during their breeding season – because that is when lice are at their worst in the salmon farms 🐟

@WildFishCons @ASPaton Doesn't that photo also show dead wrasse & blennies? These were wild-caught, then placed in the salmon pens to control the sea louse infestations. WTF happened?! 🤬🤯🤮👀💀💀💀💀

This year, the Scottish salmon farming industry reported a record mortality rate for August more than double that of some previous years. There is no place for this damaging industry in our waters. Help us take farmed salmon #Offthetable Visit 👉 offthetable.org.uk/campaign-with-…

Salmon farms capture thousands of lumpsuckers and wrasse from the wild to use as 'cleaner fish' before killing and disposing of them. These fish are a vital part of coastal ecology, yet are treated as a disposable commodity by salmon farms. #Offthetable freesalmon.is/site/
