Is Divine intervention real and why did I deserve it? Alternate Title: If someone you know suddenly goes insane, they may need help.  I travel, a lot. Most of my year is spent going from city to city, hotel to hotel with no consistent face to face contact with anyone I know.   I am not supposed to be in the hotel I'm in, nor is the woman who saved my life.    My chosen hotel was overbooked, her husband forgot to make reservations, so we ended up here; in a sketchy hotel, in adjacent rooms, bonding in humor over our circumstances.  We ran into each other last night and 90 seconds into our chat she told me to sit down and called 911. This stranger, my 4.5 day old friend turned out to be a Neuroscience Nurse Practitioner and noticed that my personality had radically shifted and that I was having a slight, uncontrolled movement of my left arm/hand.  I had dismissed the twitching as recurring weakness from a stroke I had last year. I knew I was feeling & acting a bit off but attributed it to exhaustion or anxiety.    In reality, I was having something called a "Stroke in Evolution".  A somewhat rare event that can last days and cause sudden, radical personality changes and weird behavior.  They estimate I've been "in evolution" for days, based on when I was last seen acting normally. Hotel staff was helpful, since I apparently did some odd stuff at the breakfast nook 3 days ago and they thought I must have a drug habit.  I have no memory of it. I have no memory of much of the last several days, which is very disconcerting.  I spent last night sitting in a hospital bed as they pumped something called a tissue plasminogen activator into me; I'm not sure what it is, but it sounds cool. I'm feeling steadier, my mind is clearer. I'm calmer and I'm contemplating.  I am contemplating two women, in a place they shouldn't be; one in quiet crisis, the other with the very specific knowledge and experience to recognize that crisis.  I am contemplating divine intervention and gratitude.   I can't help but wonder why I deserve this gift. I am not special, important or even particularly likeable.     I took a picture of my hospital room; it has stained glass like a church, which is just sugar on the strange cookie of this situation.   The Doctors want more imaging, hopefully I'll only be in here a few days.  I quit, I'm going home.  Mean while, I will also contemplate how close I may have been to dying, alone, in a sketchy hotel, while I slept.

Thanks Aziz:) Karma for what though? I'm generally pleasant and pick up after myself. Mostly. Being transformed into a monster seems a bit unfair to me. Full disclaimer: I am currently feeling a bit sorry for myself since my left leg has decided to stop working properly. I've already been through this, grrr... *sigh*

Klineman issued a permanent injunction blocking Indiana's abortion ban based on the outrageous claim. The judge blocked the ban for a certified class of people who claim killing a baby in an abortion is an exercise of their religious beliefs. Klineman ruled that the state’s 2022 abortion law violates Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act by substantially burdening the religious exercise of people who say their religion supports killing babies in abortions. Attorney General Todd Rokita will appeal the ruling to a state appeals court.
