Using the correct transliteration for a place in Ukraine affirms recognition of Ukraine as a sovereign state – a fact Russia tries to deny. We welcome the decision of states and international organisations to adopt the Ukrainian spelling of Chornobyl, including in the UN resolution of December 10, 2025. Like Kyiv, Chornobyl reflects Ukrainian pronunciation and thus aligns with the global practice of updating place names for linguistic correctness. The successful shift from the Russian spelling “Kiev” to the Ukrainian “Kyiv” is a clear example of this trend. The difference between Texas and Virginia redistricting is this: The people of Texas didn't have a say. They didn't vote on it - their legislature made the decision for them. The people of Virginia voted, it's the will of the people. That's why Republicans are so angry.

After 160 pages of evidence, 9 days of testimony, and 20+ witnesses, SCOTUS reviewed it over a holiday weekend and said "nah, use it anyway." Kagan called it: "We are a higher court, but not a better one." And let's not forget—Barrett, Kavanaugh, and Alito were Bush attorneys during Bush v. Gore, fighting for 36 days to count overseas ballots that gave him the win. Now on SCOTUS, they're saying ballots arriving a day late should be tossed. Same attorneys. Same party. Opposite rules. If that's not partisan hypocrisy, you're choosing blindness. They don't want democracy. They want power by any means necessary.

No one in the world deals with the weak, and international law does not work without strength. To succeed in negotiations, we must be strong on the battlefield and united on the home front. I shared my views today at the Kyiv Security Forum. Our “red lines” remain unchanged: we will not recognize any territorial losses, and we are not going to trade our land. Any compromise must, first and foremost, serve Ukraine’s interests. Ukraine’s “oil sanctions” are working effectively. This is not only financial damage for the aggressor, but above all a powerful reputational blow. The world sees that Russia is no longer a reliable supplier. Our goal is clear – to deprive the enemy of the resources needed to wage war. Militarily, we are at a stage where simply increasing the number of drones no longer fundamentally changes the situation.
